I cannot argue about what THE SEARCHERS looked like originally. I never saw it on a screen. I can tell you that there are NO green skies in the Blu-ray version of the movie that I have, and it remains, almost a year after I got involved in high def movies on disc, among the two or three best transfers I have in my collection.

As DR Jennifer mentioned earlier, BOSTON LEGAL did not come on last night as I found out when I tried to play it back while eating lunch this afternoon and found a special edition of 20/20 instead.

BK, I did not mean to imply that I didn't find your thoughts on films informed. The point I was making was that I'm not going to buy the disc you were commenting on - the standard definition version. I'm eager to read some informed comments on the Blu-ray versions of THE SHINING and 2001. I read Peter Bracke's review this morning on THE SHINING, and he was overall pleased with the video quality and not so pleased with the audio.

So, since BOSTON LEGAL was lost to me, I watched last night's SVU. A pretty good episode, a perplexing case involving the "controlled" torture of suspected terrorists. Steven Weber played the defense attorney.

Next, I watched the last two episodes of THE L-WORD. Though some of the stories were uber-maudlin or predictable, I was very surprised to become invested in the Jennifer Beals-Marlee Matlin story.

The bonus features were beyond pathetic: a 1 1/2 minute plea from two of the actresses on the show for support of Much Love Animal Rescue, and biographical text pages (they still do these?) on all the major actresses on the show.

They also included the premiere episodes of THE TUDORS and CALIFORNICATION but nothing about the behind-the-scenes making of the episodes of the season.

I watched today's A THE WORLD TURNS. Yes, the gay boys were on, but looks like tomorrow, it's just Luke's parents in the spotlight.

I spent the last 40 minutes of the afternoon watching GIRL CRAZY. Since I've seen it so much, I turned on John Fricke's excellent audio commentary while I watched. The film looks a bit grainier than the BABES films in the set (haven't watched STRIKE UP THE BAND yet), and I saw some scratches and specks, but overall, it looked fine.

I am so glad to have these and not have to rely on the VHS versions any more.

Well, it's not so much address labels, but I have to fill out return authorization forms from book sellers and those are not on-line or in some document file. I still NEED a typewriter. And the one I have isn't long for this world. $:-\$

To continue...I guess what I really need with this second opinion is confirmation that there really is a tumor. The vet on Saturday only had Ebonie in the back for 10-15 minutes (cleaning the claw) and she didn't tell me what it was that made her suspect that there was a tumor, as opposed to it just being an infection or abscess. $:-\$

Ebonie has been home now for four days and her affected paw doesn't seem to feel any different than the other ones. She doesn't have any problem with me holding it and, from the outside of her body and with my completely untrained eyes, it looks normal.

george, i think your vet should have explained herself, and done a biopsy. if it is a tumor, and it isn't growing, and it is benign, then maybe it doesn't need to be removed. on the other hand, if it is a cancerous tumor, urgency may be needed. i think overall she seemed to casual about it all, and slightly uninterested.

i hope whatever it is, the new doctor spends time talking and explaining everything to u. it might help if u take a list of questions with u.
