Cilla I mentioned this the last time you had this issue, but since you're ripping out drywall, I highly recommend buying the sealer paint.  We used to get copious water in a rental whenever it rained and once we had painted the foundation walls with the sealant paint we never had another issue.

Yes, and I considered it.  Actually, I had't had the problem since I moved in and didn't think I'd have the problem at all.   I need to build up the ground outside the house to increase the slope, too

I agree.

But the water is coming in more places than just the walls....the window wells, under the sliding glass door.....there's a lot more to do

Thanks TCB.   IT just rained another inch.  As much as I hate to do this, I'm on my way downstairs to start ripping out the carpet.

Had a nice afternoon in Dayton and drove back in an awful thunderstorm.

I'm back from the dentist and I don't have to have as much work done as I thought but it will still be quite a few dollars. Oh, well. That's what happens when you don't have dental insurance and you put things off.

But I have a good dentist and the care is excellent and the price is right. It would be double or more if I went to a dentist office.

Back from the screening of a nice short film.  I talked to the guy at the theater and he'd like to do a Nudie Musical screening when the Blu and Ray is released.  We've reached 44% of our funding goal in five days.  So, 46% to go.  Spread the word.

Dental vibes to DR Ben.

Since so many people these days don't have dental insurance it'd be good to see more "affordable" dentists. I had a lot of work done last year with a dentist who was less than half the price of the first dentist I consulted--and I've found nothing wrong with her work.

I notice that Deep Discount, a site I learned of from this site, is having a big sale. I placed an order this morning and am considering another. So many of my old favorites are on sale!! The sale includes CRANFORD, BTW.

Long day/story, short:

-My train was supposed to leave at 4:40am this past morning. Due to a blown transformer in New Jersey, it did not leave until 6:50am.
-My train pulled into DC's Union Station at 10:10am. Rehearsal started at 10:00am. I emailed and texted updates to my stage manager and music director along the way. It was going to be all right.
-I hailed a cab at 10:15am.
-Arrived at Arena Stage at 10:25am.
-Started playing dance rehearsal - the Dream Ballet - at 10:30.
-Lunch was from 1:00pm-3:00pm. -It was long break today in order to let people take care of administrative stuff - myself included.
-Rehearsal was scheduled to end at 7:00pm, but we ended up finishing up at 6:15pm.
-After some discussions about tomorrow's schedule, I headed for the subway around 7:00pm.
-My brother picked me up from the Vienna Metro Station at 7:45.
-At 8:15pm I zonked out on the couch until about 15 minutes ago.

And... Before I go back to bed....

Thank You for the Travel Vibes.

*Even though my train left late, it turned out we were the first train out of Penn Station after the power had been restored. From the updates I was reading along the way, a good number of the trains after mine were either further delayed or cancelled.

Man, can I tell I'm going to be 50 in a couple weeks.   Tonight I took all the carpeting out of the room I remodeled.  I think some of it could have been saved, but I did it myself, so the only way I can do it is to cut it in pieces.  I will say it looks good and doesn't really smell, but it's been wet so it's going.   I think the pad is what was stinky.  That's gone too as is the tack strip that was glued and nailed into the cement floor.   The carpet from the store room/ cats potty room was soaked.  I ripped up most of it, the rest is under a plastic shelf full of stuff and I'm just not up to it, but the worst of all of it is in the garage now.   It was a lot of work, but the worst of it is done

Interesting, a woman who has become a facebook friend through the flood - I think she's related to the people I did some sandbagging for- said she'd help me starting on Thursday.  I may have the bulk of it done by then, but I didn't say no.  I'm not very good at asking for help, and I really could use some
