Back from The Dresden Room and what I must say was a somewhat disappointing experience. We arrived at seven and there wasn't a soul in the restaurant. They sat us and we ordered. We both had prime rib (I had the larger cut with the bone) and salad, baked potato and I also ordered a shrimp cocktail. To start, they brought us some garlic bread. The thought it smelled heinous, but I took a bite and it really was strike one - just awful, and nothing like The Smoke House or any other good garlic bread.
The shrimp cocktail sauce was decent and so were the shrimps, although while they were decent-sized, they weren't the best kind of shrimp for shrimp cocktail. But decent enough. The ranch dressing was great, but they don't make it themselves (none of their dressings were homemade). Then came the prime rib, which was HUGE. We both liked but didn't love it. Mine was a bit difficult to negotiate because it was a little tough - flavor-wise it was good, though, but not anywhere near Lawry's or The Smoke House. The best food of the evening was the baked potato. It's not somewhere I never need to go again. I am uncomfortably full right now.
