Well, you've read the notes, the notes wrote up a storm, and now it is time for you to post until the stormy cows come home.

Today, I will be ushering for one in the Washington Center's silent film series, "Way Down East."  I love their silent film series.  They have live organ music playing and it's always very good!  Here's what the listing says:

Quote
A 1920 romantic drama directed by D. W. Griffith and starring Lillian Gish, this is one of four film adaptations of the melodramatic 19th century play Way Down East by Lottie Blair Parker. Griffith's version is particularly remembered for its exciting climax in which Gish's character is rescued from doom on an icy river. The original score will be performed live on our 1924 Andy Crow Wurlitzer by master organist Dennis James.

After that, I'll probably go to my parents' house.  My sister and niece are having dinner there, so if they're still there, I'll visit and probably play Scrabble of Phase 10.

Have a good day, all!

I guess it's my age but so many actors that I grew up with and admire (and in this case met) Don Harron one of authors of the music version of ANNE OF GREEN GABLEs, but perhaps would be most remembered to US television audiences as the character of Charlie Farquharson which he did on Hee Haw for 18 seasons. But he was firstly a Canadian icon who did TV, Film, Radio and author.

Here is a picture of him in character

and as himself

In the strange coincidence department: I just read on the Book of Face that my friends who I worked with in Middletown and who recent moved to Dayton also had dinner at the same place Ginny and Richard did last night, the Amber Rose. Bill posted a picture of his turtle soup, which looked wonderful.

Good morning, all.

I could hardly get my bloomin' arse out of bed this morning.  For no good reason at all.  Well, maybe getting only six and a half hours of sleep is a good reason.  Must do better than that.

Coffee!

Sunday morning greetings!  Fr. Richard excused me from Lima today so that Mary Linda and I can attend a baby shower this afternoon for a young AAUW friend.  I've known the mother-to-be since she was a baby and she and Rob grew up together.  Her mom, as a school board member, presented Rob his high school diploma 10 years ago.

Good morning, all!

I was up a bit late last night reading my latest Thomas and Charlotte Pitt mystery,  I got to bed some time after 12:45, and this morning - after several bizarre dreams I no longer recall -  I slept in longer than I should.  This is a "finish that damned Moross score" day, so I need to finish up the second half of "The Contraband Ball," which occurred in Vicksburg in 1863, and is in the musical a darkly humorous and disastrous integration attempt.

At the same time, I have the LaCie repair function run to check on the disk holding the downloads of the past three days. C'est l'histoire de ma vie.

We got there at 5:30 and the place was empty.  By the time we left an hour or so later, it was packed.
