Paul and I went to a matinee of Inside Out today.   It was interesting, original and had some very funny moments.  I liked it, but can't say I loved it. It's sort of a psychological profile of an 11 year old girl.  I have no clue what a kid would think of it, but there were a lot of kids there today

My nieces liked it.

Good to hear that

You and I must be the only ones who still write checks, Elmore.

My account is too erratic to allow them to deduct funds.

I write one check a month for my HOA dues.  Otherwise, I write checks as the treasurer of both Theater Artists Olympia and my library's supervisor's union.

Yes, that is the corner of my front yard.  The water is receding....like my hairline....but it got closer to my house than it ever has.

People down and across the street had water in their homes......

Yikes!  Hopefully the water stays away from your house!

I use nothing but Bill Pay, but I don't preset any bills.  On the day my SS arrives, I sit down and figure out what to pay to whom.  Then I hit send and they all go out the next morning.  No checks and no stamps.

I have only seen two films in LA.  I saw THE TIME MACHINE (1960) at a theater in Redondo Beach; and I saw PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE at the Dome.

The first movie I remember seeing in a theater was THE WIZARD OF OZ at the Proctor Theater two blocks from our house.  I saw almost all the movies I saw as a kid at the Proctor with my friends or my sister.  When we went as a family it was usually to the Temple Theater in Tacoma.  That was the theater where most of the Road Show Engagements played.  I mostly remember seeing WEST SIDE STORY, BEN-HUR, CAMELOT, and SOUTH PACIFIC there.  We had three downtown theaters in a one block area.  The Roxy, the Music Box, and the Rialto.  The Roxy is where PSYCHO played.  The Music Box burned down while the THE BIRDS was playing.  And the Rialto is where I saw that horrible MR. SARDONICUS.

And in the summer we had the four drive-in movie theaters.  We had the Auto-view, the Fife, the Starlite, and the 112th Street.

I wish we still had drive-ins.  There are only two left in Western Washington that I know of for sure.  One of them is down by George

The Skyline Drive-In is between Olympia and Shelton.  If I remember correctly, for a while years ago it showed "adult" movies. ;)

The ice cream looks good.

I purshased mini cones and had one tonight filled with Badkin Robbins chocolate chip.  Keith laughs at my miniscule cone but I like the size.

WTH??  My DVR has reset itself three, count 'em, THREE times in the last couple of hours AND I'm recording tonight's "Last Ship" while watching last week's episode of "Falling Skies."  Tonight's episode is going to be in three chunks. :P

The (minor) problem is when I go back into the show I'm watching, it goes back to the beginning of the program.  It doesn't start from where it left off.

Whew!!  My other DVR recorded "The Last Ship" and it didn't reset, so it has the complete episode without interruptions...other than commercials, of corse.
