I missed a return call from the furniture store by a couple of minutes.  They didn't leave a message.

I hate it when that happens.  If people call me and don't leave a message, I don't call back.

Went and picked up some packages - the ones that should have been there yesterday but were delivered today - and I got a Subway sandwich for the meal o' the day, which I came home and ate.  I've been listening to music.  Got one DGA screener - some heinous-sounding thing written, directed by and starring Angelina Jolie, and co-starring her husband.  The reviews on this thing have been horrifying - a true vanity project, her attempt to make a Euro art film circa the early 70s.  I'm not sure I have the sand to watch it - we shall see.  I keep hoping for The Danish Girl or something good.

I was busy trying to get lots done and lots caught up on when things started coming out of left field. Yesterday I was just two blocks from the optician when I had my first encounter with my car's dashboard diagnostics. There was this horrible noise and the dashboard informed me that my tires were underinflated. Sigh. One of the tires looked very low on Sunday and I'd gone to the gas station and put air in the tire. A slow leak, I thought. I got half of it right. Fortunately, I was able to drive on it long enough to get to my mechanic. (And just WHERE are all the gas stations these days when you need one? There used to be one on every corner.) His guys found a small nail in the tire and fixed it promptly. I do trust their work, but I keep checking the tire.

Is this about the bed that was poorly installed? Maybe the furniture store doesn't want a call back. They'd rather Jane forgot about it.

That would be nice. He was always very pleasant and charming. I liked his film QUARTET very much.

I made my first gluten free cake yesterday. I didn't like it. I guess there is something about wheat flour that makes things so good.

Sorry you were disappointed. I eat lots of gluten-free breads that are not only tasty, but you really wouldn't know they were gluten-free. I've never tried to make them and can't tell you what the trick is--if there is one. I imagine there are some blogs about it.

The doctor released wife Sandy yesterday, so now she can drive.

And, I no longer have to follow her around at the grocery store while she decides which head of lettuce she should buy.

 

Congrats. Oh, yes, driving has its advantages.

O Happy Day!  The check was in the post.  It was mailed and postmarked eight days ago.  WTF?

Is there any rhyme or reason to the USPS? Glad the check arrived.

No. I'll try again tomorrow. I was very glad they took care of it so quickly, but I was still feeling a bit rattled and revised what was left of my day.

Bruce, I think Sambucol is a good choice, but it should be taken by itself. The other products can antidote homeopathic remedies.

Jane, was it the furniture store who installed the bed?

Unfortunately not.  They gave us the name of a delivery service they use.  Oregon doesn't have a sales tax so people often use a delivery service for over the border.  They give the service we use a lot of business.  I called the store we purchased the bed from to see what they will do.  They are actually an appliance store and not the same furniture store I have been having issues with.

I got my flu shot today and am feeling a bit under the weather.

Is this how you normally feel after the shot or worse?  Either way, vibes it doesn't last long.

Not sure. Usually the arm is tender. I don't feel terrible. My head was just hurting a bit, i was warm and I was a bit wobbly on my feet. Resting has helped. And I took some advil.
