The TOD a few days ago was best Christmas gift, right now while we are braving single digit weather I am voting for the remote start that Vixdad bought me this year

Where the HELL have I been?  I didn't fall asleep until after five - really annoying.  Slept till almost one so seven hours of sleep.  Then I had to do a bunch of stuff since it was so late in the day.  I picked up no mail and one package, did some banking, had a few irritants, went to Ralph's and got several small things from their deli to have throughout the day, all calorie-friendly, came home, helper came by, and I did a bunch of stuff on the computer and dealt with irritants as best I could.

You know what always makes me laugh - these people on Facebook who, every single first week of the New Year come on and post that it's already the Best. Year. Ever.  I swear, and I could name names, they do this every year.  And within a week or two of doing it, they start complaining about everything and within a month it's the Worst. Year. Ever. and continues to be so until the next January.  My recommendation is to hope and pray that the New Year will be wonderful - then you have a shot at it.

I am making up for lost time.  Lost time does not like me without make up, so I've put on some foundation and a little rouge, and a bit of eye liner.

DR George, I'm sorry about the loss of your friend and co-worker. I'm sure his family appreciated your presence.

Thanks, Jennifer.  They seemed really appreciative of everyone who was there.

Tom Rolla, whose Gardenia club I've been going to since the early 80s, has passed away.  I'm told the club will continue with hostess Nichole, who's great, assuming management duties.  I venture to say that there would be no cabaret in LA without Tom.  He was a great guy who could be very difficult, but never with me.  I did my one and only club act there for six years straight, directed several acts that played there, and of course began the Kritzerland shows there - we did fifteen of them before moving to a larger venue.  I know this made Tom unhappy, but we had to do it.  He tried everything to get me to stay, but I knew we had to have more room.  I saw him several times after that - sometimes he was cool to me, but other times it was just like old times.  I'll miss him.

I'm so sorry, BK. :(

Topic of the Day:

*Losing weight and getting my A1C, blood pressure and cholesterol under control
*Being cast in Hairspray and playing five different roles
*Getting cast in Cinder Edna to be happening in April/May 2018 (but getting cast happened THIS year!)
*Getting my house cleaned for the first time in quite a while and getting a new cat (but Neve's medical expenses are NOT a highlight :P )

And now, I must be off.  I'm meeting my friend Margo for dinner, then we're going to see Loving Vincent at the Olympia Film Society.  I have really been wanting to see this!  I hope it's good.

Be back later.

I see that Rose Marie has died. I thought she’d died a long time before.

Always liked Sally on Dick Van Dyke.

Watching The Maltese Falcon. This edition, the one with Druxy on the commentary, is gorgeous, the cleanest print I’ve ever seen.
