The real people Titanic dolls sound far more interesting than movie ones.

Hey!

Hey!  We skipped the crowded breakfast room at our hotel and ventured over to Junior’s in Schubert Alley for breakfast.  Not wanting to backtrack, we’re now relaxing in the 8th floor lobby of the Marriott Marquis.

One thing, though: no one's talking about my bathtub incident.

The four or five years I lived in my little Beverly Hills apartment (on Clark Drive, one block west of Robertson, one north of Wilshire), I had been foolish enough to take this otherwise nice little place that didn’t have AC, and it was horrible during any kind of heat wave.

A later place (on Mentone in Palms) had it but it was a lousy unit that they never could get to blow sufficiently cold. Also horrible.

Everywhere else was fine, including the Redondo Beach one at King Harbor which didn’t have it and didn’t need it. But I’ve always credited those other two experiences as the source of my lifelong obsession, or just plain insistence, on always having good, well functioning AC.

You learned your lesson ling before I did.  No A/C in Reseda, NJ, MA, PA, MI.  It was the house in CT with air that finally got me saying I would not buy a house without it again.

I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep with one final disturbing dream - the others were all fine.

Good afternoon.  I can't remember what show the regulars are seeing today, but I am sure it is wonderful.

I don't remember the last time I stayed in bed that late, when I wasn't sick.

TOD:

Van Cliburn

Bill Evans

Marvin Hamlisch

Ferrante & Teicher

Oscar Levant

Victor Borge

I don't listen to much solo piano music, but I do enjoy concert videos of Marvin Hamlisch and Victor Borge. :) And Bobby Short can be added to my list.

I've never lived in a place that had air conditioning, just my work and my cars have had it.  I really haven't needed it too much.  It's gotten warm up here in my bedroom, but never unbearably so.

This is cool!  The Olympia chapter of PFLAG made their own PSA.  My sister and niece are on the board.  I'm in one of the pictures, at right about 35 seconds:
