At 11 AM, I am going to the airport to pick up my dear wife, Sandy, who is returning from Los Angeles.

Then, we will probably go out and have a typical Jewish Christmas meal: Chinese.

It's going to be a quiet day. I do not want to leave the apartment, and this may be the first Christmas in ages I was invited nowhere, so it actually worked out fine.

I must clean the litter, wash the kitties' dishes, and make the bed. Then I'll open all of the accumulated Christmas cards and call Randy. Then Annabelle, Thatch, and I will pile onto my bed and watch TV.

We will have a quiet-ish day here, too, till mid-afternoon when we’re heading out to see our first Christmas Day movie in a while: Mary Poppins Returns. I’m prepared to accept its deficiencies and just enjoy the good, and the outing itself.

I would also be happy indulging in the Jewish Chinese meal afterward, but we really don’t have a place around here that’s to my liking. This was not the case 15-20 years ago when civilization still reigned and we had a few excellent pre-buffet Chinese restaurants. Alas.

This morning I am going out for a late breakfast with my brother Mike and his wife....he considers 9 a.m. late - so that's when we're going....to the Pancake House.....

If we were in LA we would have celebrated with my family last night. Since it is just the two of us this year we will not have a special meal and avoid the calories 😊

I've opened all my Christmas cards. Randy sent two envelopes, one for Thatch and one for Annabelle. Only hers arrived yesterday, so I expect Thatch's to arrive tomorrow. I think I'll hold hers till then.

Back then we went out for Chinese food fairly often. There were many excellent ones to choose from and we alternated where we ate.
