I used to occasionally buy frozen foods from Amy's Kitchen.  I kind of liked the enchilada dinner & the Mattar Paneer.  I haven't purchased them in years.

George, I had visions of you hunkered over your salad, arms wrapped around it, saying "my precious."

I, too, like the Amy's Kitchen enchiladas.  In the Gelson's delivery, there was an Amy's Kitchen pizza.

Ooh, nifty Facebook thing so that I won't have to see posts I no that will irritate me - you can "take a break" from certain folks and I have done so.

Quote
The Love Salad is:  "Fresh romaine and napa cabbage, topped with crunchy noodles, sliced almonds and our creamy ginger “LOVE” dressing."  It's kind of large, but not too much for one.  It's probably enough for two Janes, though.

I don't know, I eat a large salad as my only meal, but then it includes more veggies and protein.  This sounds delicious.

It is...but it's not the same when you get it to go.  It's still good, but just not as good. ;) You also can add different proteins, and tofu is one of them.

I would like this.  Did you order the dressing on the side?

I didn't.  They put it in a little container without me asking.  I thought that that was a good idea!

Just watched September, a Woody Allen flick I hadn't seen since it first came out. As an exercise in Ingmar Bergman devotion, it was better than I remembered, thanks to an outsized performance from Elaine Stritch.

Towards the end, the camera passes by scenes of the house, including the bar, and there is a bronze version of the penguin ice bucket that I have. Mine is stainless steel, which I prefer. But I can't remember seeing something like that that I own in a movie.

Now, it's the time for something funny. W.C. Fields in "It's a Gift."

So, even the Arthur Murray has closed to private lessons. No lesson on Sunday.

I have one of those penguin ice buckets. I need to dig it out from wherever it is, and use it.

I think mine is the shiny, chrome-like one. Hmmm. Really must dig it out.

I’ve been hearing about these Amy’s pizza for years.

Maybe it’s about time I tried one.

Or three.

I hope tomorrow is not as crazy as today was. The meetings were more scattershot. I felt like a pinball.

I had an Amy's veggie pot pie just last week. It was the first I'd had in many years. And I, too, used to like their enchiladas.

Many, many years ago, when Main St in Venice, CA was still rather run-down, I saw an oak chair I liked in an antique store. It had "CB" carved in it. I asked the owner about it. He thought it might have been for C.B. deMille. I bought the chair. A couple weeks later a friend and I were in Hollywood, watching the W.C. Fields' film "The Barber Shop." Fields is sitting on the front porch of his shop when, lo and behold, he stands up and here's the perfect shot of my chair! I couldn't believe it! My chair was a movie star! (Well, more like an extra.)

As for deMille ownership, I asked my dad about it and he said it could have been, that deMille was like that.

I also renewed my Costco membership.  I have the executive membership, and with the rebate that I got back, it only cost me $9.80 out of pocket!  I share my membership with my friend David, so we both contribute to racking up those points. :D

How do you share a membership?

The homeless shelter is closed until November

That's terrible! Where will these people go?

I don't know if the shelters here are still open or not.

You buy an executive membership and can share a membership at no extra cost with "an employee."

Our food pantry, which feeds more than 100 families a week, is the only thing we have open at church any more.

Well, they've now issued an order that everyone in LA has to stay in their homes, save for essential needs.  I've never seen anything like this in my life and never want to see it again.  And as of noon today I believe the total number of cases in Los Angeles numbered 232 and the death toll is - 1.

We are one of 7 churches in our township that offer a dinner, a cot for the night, breakfast and a bag lunch 1 night a week from the end of  November until the end of March .  The cots are all very close together.

The health dept advised that we couldn’t do this anymore as it could contribute tithe spread if the virus.

The food pantry is still going and notices have gone out to church members to alert them that if they are in temporary financial straits because of quarantine and businesses closing  that they can contact Pastor for a confidential food drop off

We've been down for ninety minutes - the main off-site server went wonky and our guy had to rebuild - he's really great and got it up in time for the notes, but I won't post them for another thirty minutes.

Whew!  TCB texted me, asking if I knew what was going on, and I could only assume that there was some problem.
