Saturday afternoon greetings!  We are - gasp! - going to socialize this evening.  We’re going to Marianne and Steve’s for a cookout with them and Sharon and Tom.  Marianne is a microbiologist and she set some social distancing guidelines, so we figured we’d be OK.  We’ll be outdoors at separate tables and masked except when eating.  This will be a new experience for us - film at 11.

We’ve also been invited to a similar gathering next week at Richard’s brother’s house deck in Cincinnati.  So much excitement, I can hardly stand it.

Back from stuff.  100 degrees out and unbearable.  I put the air on at ten before I left and it's still 76 in the house, but really seems much colder.  If I shut it off it will be eighty again within ten minutes.

Well, damnation!  It seems, whenever I find food or treat the cats actually like, it doesn't hang around long.  Thatch's Wild salmon treats are back, but Annabelle loves this Purina dry food with ocean whitefish,  It's the one guarantee I can give her when she's stopped up and not eating.  Well, when I tried to order more this week, Amazon, Petco, and Chewy had removed it from their websites.  I just contacted Purina, and they are no longer making it.

Cantinflas.....Cantinflas......I don't know what I was thinking.

It was on Comcast TCM OnDemand......I think it was shown on Sammy Davis, Jr. Day on TCM earlier this week.

I didn't see a stop date....so it may be around for a week or so.

Anyone who has Comcast and recording abilities can record it, I would guess.   I only have one of those things.

You may have felt it but Uranus has gone retrograde in Taurus therefore:

When innovative Uranus goes retrograde in monetarily minded Taurus, you tend to take stock of your life in terms of what things are worth. Do you have the material possessions that you want, or is your bank balance as high as you’d like it to be?

At the same time, this transit asks you to evaluate yourself in terms of your own personal worthiness. Have you already contributed as much as you’d like to the world? And if not, how can you add more to it in the future?

And the newer machine are far better than the older ones, and don't need as many photos.

Then I was brought immediately to the torture chamber

At least you were able to do the texts on the same day making it much simpler.

Then I was dismissed and requested to keep the bag as a “lovely parting gift”. I was told I would be billed for the copay which I could pay  by phone or online

Very nice.

The only person who touched me was my namesake and she was double masked, gloved and gowned

Great, especially the double mask.  They are too close for this one.  Did they give you a second mask to wear?

DR Jeanne was talking about the shortage of coins the other day.  I actually have quite a few since I pay for everything with credit cards.   I used to need quarters for the washers and dryers in the basement, but for the last few years they take credit cards.   Occasionally there's a problem with the internet so I have to use quarters then.

Regular credit cards or laundry cards?  I think Craig buys laundry cards to use and uses cash to put money on them.

Have fun.  We had our first social event planned for tomorrow.  We set the guidelines.  Since we don't want to sit outside, without shade, in 100 degree temps we have postponed for a week.

Thanks.  Keith has unplugged our alarms until we get our new carbon monoxide & gas detectors.  The guy did such a great job of checking everything for leaks we are probably safe until they arrive.

We parked at Safeway and went for a walk through the old cemetery down the road.  There are newer graves there as well.  We like to browse cemeteries.  Today we saw a marker we have never seen anywhere before.  Instead of the birth year and birth death it showed the exact time of birth and the exact time of death, about 3 minutes apart :(

Chinese chicken salad was great and now we Zoom in ninety minutes.  Have to turn the air off, it's really bothering me.  Of course, then the heat will be really bothering me.  I got it down to 75 two hours ago, shut it off and fifteen minutes later it was 78.

Last night we watched the blu-ray of A Study in Terror, my favorite Sherlock Holmes-Jack the Ripper film.  I had owned the British DVD, which was letterboxed, and the Blu-Ray is in glorious Cinemascope.  George Brown had me singing "Ta-ra-ra-boom-de-ay!" all day.
