Today, I have no plans except to do some laundry. I do have the last season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to watch. I should probably start to watch those and delete them from my DVR.
DR George, the broken bulb was incandescent.
I am happy to be up and out of two weird dreams, one having to do with finding myself in a restaurant for the first time since March. It seemed to be in TriBeCa, where a few restaurant-y dreams over the years have been set for no apparent reason. The second was another of my abstract concoctions involving links to a few recordings of music and some other stuff, I think films or TV shows, but the main piece of music was the Mahler Sixth. In the first dream I was having a reunion with a few friends, including a gal I haven’t seen in nearly twenty years who had in real life been a medical examiner but in the dream was now working in this restaurant. In the second, the “links” to these musical/movie things were being provided by one of NYC’s still-current (I think) medical examiners who used to be the boyfriend of the gal in the first dream. In real life I had bought (for a pittance) his collection of laserdiscs back in the early 2000s.
So, Labor Day. I’m going to labor by mowing a few weeds this morning, then just enjoy the rest of the day. We’ll be grilling our hamburgers later this afternoon.Have I mentioned for the benefit of our Southern California denizens that our weather is perfect, with clear days and temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s? (Don’t get up, I’ll show myself out.)
Today is my wedding anniversary. Maybe we will splurge and get some takeout. All I have defrosting is ground beef. Yawn.
Once I make my bed, I plan to lie in it until I feel like moving.
I keep checking for a kitty photo from TCB. I hope he feels well enough soon to provide one for us.
The reason for my confusion was having had and enjoyed a bottled Russian dressing before I moved out there, that was more red in color with a distinctively different flavor and consistency. So, I had this idea about Russian dressing that didn't match the Hamburger Hamlet's at all. I need to find one like that and put it up against the ones I know now, and see what's what.

But no microwave cart
Listening to Ruth Gipps' fifth symphony - terrible live recording, but that's all there is.
I've been busy all day doing laundry, paying bills, and taking care of odds and ends. Such as why didn't the USPS deliver my book on Saturday. They say they attempted delivery. I don't believe them; I was here all day. They apparently want me to pick it up somewhere, but failed to leave one of those little notice slips or tell me WHERE. The book came from the UK. It managed to come all this way and yet the USPS can't seem to complete the journey. Ugh! I have a couple more things to do before Wednesday's surgery.
Happy Anniversary to DR Laura and Hubby.
Happy Birthday to Rob.
Did anyone (DR John G.?) watch "The Gershwins'" Porgy and Bess over the weekend? I'm afraid I only got through the first half, and that was in three sittings. Shame on me. I was trying to get in too many other things on Saturday and Sunday, including some lazy TV watching. As usual, I was put off by some of the cuts. For instance, they completely cut Archdale and the "Buzzard Song". Porgy's promotion from goat cart to a leg brace and crutch sort of worked okay, but... but... but...
Good night.

I suppose that makes sense in the dreams where I am back working at a former employer; but last night was a current dream.
September 7 was not a holiday in 1985, but it was my own personal Labor Day - happy 35th birthday to Rob!

I am in the midst of having my pre-approval application approved so I will be allowed to see a few cats selected by them. They only allow people to attend the meetings on Wednesday or Sunday.
Happy Anniversary, DR Laura! We celebrated Rob and Mary Linda’s 9th anniversary last Friday with a pizza party.
