Back from the concert. It was an interesting experiment. All of the musicians were spread out on the stage. Everyone but the winds and the like wore masks. The program was only an hour-long.

They only let about 150 people in. The patrons had to wear their masks throughout, which all but one or two complied with.

The program included two pieces written in the 1940s, Walker's Lyric for Strings and Tausky's Coventry" Meditation for String Orchestra. Both were somber pieces inspired by the war.

to make things a little livelier, they also played Mozart's Divertimento in D major, written when he was 16, and Haydn's Symphony No. 34 in D minor.

Thanks to all who gave feedback to my little survey of comfort levels during Covid. I went out for a veggie burger today and continued my survey with the two people there who I know. Both were happy to see outdoor dining allowed again, but both said they wouldn't do it.

DR George, we had what appears to be our first mail delivery since Saturday,  Thanks for the package!

It's incredible how NYC gets *way* more impacted by their few inches of snow than up here in the wilderness where we get the real stuff. We only missed Monday's deliveries while the nor'easter was battering everyone.

On Tuesday, our plow guy had no sooner finished clearing our driveway around 11:00 a.m. when both a USPS and an Amazon van were driving up to the house bestowing gifts.

I do realize that the resulting slush is a huge factor in NYC snowstorm recovery.

When I lived in Old Town Alexandria our problem was where to put the snow. All the lots were narrow and dense and cars were thick at the curb. More open space would have helped greatly.

Friday morning greetings!  It's a paperwork day for me and I'm at my desk dealing with an issue that I probably shouldn't discuss on a public forum.  Nothing life-threatening, but very annoying.

Vibes for DR Ginny.

I got the only kind of lip balm I saw on Friday.  It is Orange-Mango Explosion.....and it lives up to its name.

Probably not a best-seller. I only buy unflavored and unscented lip balm. I find that both Badger and Dr Bronner make good ones.

SAG-AFTRA was going to censure DJT - so he quit instead......boldy proclaiming:  "Who cares?"

https://www.sagaftra.org/sag-aftra-statement-donald-j-trump%E2%80%99s-resignation-union

SAG's response to the letter.  "Thank you."

I wonder if he was wearing Melania's infamous jacket when he resigned.

Thanks for all the plumbing vibes!

No new water leaks since last night, but the leaks seem to happen (at least, lately), between 6PM and 8PM.

The management sent someone to take a look today. At least wearing a mask. He was on a walkie-talkie with another guy in the apartments above us. They apparently cut out part of a wall upstairs, but didn't find a leak.

So, as DR Jrand70 says, we shall see what we shall see.

Vibes they find the problem soon and it gets fixed pronto!

One of my favorite TV shows, BALTHAZAR, is returning for a third season. It's a French series about a quirky forensic pathologist. It's on Acorn TV.

Finished with my viewing, and back from Gelson's - got a little green salad to go with my earlier sandwiches. Got some more Diet Coke and waters, butter and American cheese, then I went to 7-11 and finally cashed in my winning lottery ticket - first time I've ever won more than two bucks, I think - thirty bucks. The Darling Daughter gave me the card with some other Christmas stuff. She gives me those every year and have never had a winner until this time.

Does anyone hVe any microwave recommendations?

I usually chose them for size, looks, and settings.  I believe our current, built in,  one is a Dacor. I am pleased with it.  It was here when we moved in.

I suggest doing a search for best current models.

I just updated the apps on one of my tablets.  I hadn't used it in a couple of weeks, so there were 26 apps that needed updating! :o
