Roasting a whole heap of vegetables at the moment. Some will be eaten; some will be turned into soups.

Friend's Memorial Day cookout was a success, and I'm so stuffed I shouldn't have to eat till next Thursday.

Last night I watched Dirty Harry. GREAT fun.

This movie captures the San Francisco I first saw in the summer of 1971, which is a nice bonus.

Didn't listen to the commentary, but I watched all of the other extras - much to my surprise, since there's quite a bit there. Learned a few things, and enjoyed getting to know a bit more from Mr. Eastwood.

I'll be away from it tonight for certain obvious reasons, so I plan to return to Magnum Force either tomorrow or Tuesday night. I think I'll do these every other night, starting early enough to take in whatever else is on each disc.

Vibes to TCB that his upstairs neighbor got the message! They thought they'd sneak that by you, huh? A vague note at the last minute. Sigh.

I suppose I should tell my Walter Willison story. One day, many moons ago -- around 1964 or 1965 -- Bluth Brothers Theatre was auditioning for their upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz. Ethelinn (Lolo in the Kritzerland books, IIRC) and I were at the theatre one afternoon. I think she'd just auditioned for the part of Dorothy. A young man walked in, a tall, skinny, gawky adolescent who none of us knew. He began to sing Over The Rainbow and we were all simply blown away. Out of this skinniness came this magnificent sound. I don't think I'll ever forget that audition. Walter and Bruce did the show together, and Ethelinn underscored for Dorothy.

Such enormous talent went through that theatre in its two years of existence!

I have been sitting here listening in abject astonishment to my DH telling me about "Ghost Tours," a hometown tradition in his small southern Minnesota city of birth.

A group of people are guided around a cemetery, and at various stops a costumed person "pops" out from behind a gravestone, and delivers a monologue as that person about their life.

I'm not sure whether to grab the popcorn or a straighjacket.

Ghost tours! I used to love them! When I lived in Old Town Alexandria, VA I'd go often. So much history in Alexandria! I don't recall anyone popping out from behind a gravestone. Ours mostly passed by various historic homes which were said to have a ghost (or two) associated with them. How I miss them!
