I haz been stimulated by the U.S. Government! By mail.

Which is weird, because I am married filing jointly, and the DH's stimulus arrived 2 months ago via direct deposit.

But I am not complaining.

I am going to purchase an electric standing desk.

I'm sorry to hear of the death of Karla Burns. I saw the notice of it last night and immediately wondered to what extent our DR Elmore knew and worked with her in addition to the McGlinn years. RIP, good lady.

INSANE dreams these last few nights. I haven't been reporting them and now they're mostly faded. The funny thing about the ones I woke up from yesterday morning is that they were gone the minute I awoke -- but the sensation was that I had just run the dream marathon and that it had been an active, noisy batch of...whatever. Hell, maybe I don't want to know.

Very sorry for your loss, Elmore. Karla Burns’s rendition of Hey, Feller I first heard on a Jerome Kern Revisited album. It was pure joy.

I have to sing in church tomorrow for my gig. It's supposed to be in the upper 90s, and the church is not air-conditioned. Pray for Rosemary's baby.

Sing for your sauna …

I was at that session. I didn't know her then, but she John McGlinn, Kate (who played Magnolia in the "Misery's Come Round" number), and a small chorus of black singers from the SHOWBOAT production came in to record those two numbers. Karla was a fireball.  I think it was a year later that we recorded "Songs opf New York,: and she sang "Harlem on my Mind" and "Suppertime."

Back from a walk. The parts in the shade with a light breeze were heavenly. Glad I got it in early. It's supposed to be close to 100 later.

Just this minute I was thinking of Harlem on My Mind. Someone in my audiobook mentioned Josephine Baker. Weird coincidence.

Did I mention I'm really excited about the two new Kritzerland releases??  They deserve to sell really well.

Nice amount of orders this morning for The Sap of Life. Not so nice for Cole Porter III, which kind of baffles me given it's cast. Need more, however, so hopefully more will come in. Depends when people see the announcement.
