Bloody Marys are judged. Who likes sweet Bloody Marys? There were three or four our of 11 with a definite taste of sugar. Dreadful.

I don't like vodka and I like my tomato juice pure.  Still I would think sugar an odd ingredient in a Bloody Mary.

So, I was able to make an appointment to get a PCR test by a company that has a kiosk/trailer downtown.

Good.  You already took the test today?  I was concerned you wouldn't find anything, at least not to get the results back before Monday.  Fingers crossed you have the results no later than early Monday morning.

DR Ron Pulliam - are not the child's parents concerned about giving COVID to their child, when said child can't yet be vaccinated?  Sounds dicey to me.

No, they aren't at all convinced that Covid19 is actually real.  I have heard them expound upon it ad nauseum.  I love them, but they are stupid.

How does Debra feel about this?

My biggest pain at Lenox Hill? The idiot elevator riders who don't check if the lift is going up or down, so that when it arrives in the basement for me I cannot board it because it's too full of fools who want to go up. This has happened too often.

Lenox Hill is on East 77th Street running west, and the city needs to close that block between Park and Lexington to drivers so that only ambulances, taxis, and vehicles picking up or dropping off patients have access. Every time y ride arrives, traffic backs up behind it and the horns go crazy.

Well, Kaiser's website says that they don't do Covid testing unless you need it for surgery, or some other important event.  Going back to work didn't qualify. ::)

Going back to work is important to you AND the employer paying for Kaiser.

Rib-eyes have been my favorite category so far. Just got through with pinto beans, which were all over the map. Some were too al dente, others were mush. Weird spice combinations, too much epazote or oregano. Some used bacon, others used stringy beef. Some had a thick broth, others thin. It was kinda like judging an amateur chili competition.

Friday afternoon greetings!  It has snowed all day here, but the accumulation isn’t as significant as it could be.  The handyman who came to reconnect our dryer vent had a little trouble backing his van into our steep driveway.

True except there are too many people wanted covid tests.  The hospitals by us say do not go to the ER for testing.  One hospital near us had a drive through testing site, by appointment only.  I thought Kaiser might have done something like that, but then you need the space to do it in.

I never thought of pinto beans as something special to judge.  What were your favorites?

I am glad he was able to park and connect your vent.

Sing, thanks for posting the link to BK's interview. I'd gone to Richard Skipper's site, but hadn't seen the clip. Perhaps it just wasn't up yet. Your link simplified it.

I hadn't heard of Richard Skipper, but found him to be a good interviewer. I agree with DR Chas on both points -- that his questions were good ones and that the lighting wasn't really a problem.

Good ole Mercury retrograde. My last few days have been full of foul-ups, but minor ones, fortunately. Yesterday I returned 3 Amazon items to my local Whole Foods. The two pair of jeans were under one QR code. I'd folded both pair and put them in the plastic bag they'd come in. The system acknowledged one pair, but not the other. After much consternation I was finally able to do an online chat with someone at Amazon today -- they don't make it easy to get to a real person -- and was refunded for the second pair of jeans. They want everything to go through their menus, but there's no menu item for this because it's not supposed to happen! All seems to be well now.

The two latest Kritzerland releases have landed in the Midwest.  Guess I won't have to file a PayPal dispute.      :)

I'm pretty sure that mine are at my work.

I might stop by later when very few people are around.  I know I got a couple of other packages and I don't want to wait until Monday to get them.

I m not surprised that Palin dined out two days after testing positive for covid.  What surprises me is that the restaurant didn't send her away, even if she was dining outside.

After her diagnosis the restaurant needed to make a public statement apologizing for not checking her vaccination status, as they were required to do, prior to seating her indoors.
