I am determined to refrain from shouting today.

It conserves my strength and keeps my blood pressure down.

I wish I had some tale to recount of my morning exploits, but all I did was go to Riley's on Main and pick up some lunch.  Next, I went to the post office and retrieved a small package from my mail box.

Inside was a box of shower bombs.  Yes, you read it her first.  Ron Pulliam is going to use a shower bomb in the near future to enhance his showeing experience.

I hope it's worth the words I'm typing to report this to you.

As I am sure I have mentioned, Riley's on Main is actually on Calhoun Street, which is our main thoroughfare through town.

Riley's got started in another town on its main street, hence the name.

It is owned by the Asbill family. They also have Asbill's Catering Service which handles many special functions in this area.

Now, DR vixmom, please forgive me for asking, but who is in Lumberton, and is this in North Carolina?

My college roommate my freshman year was from Lumberton NC.  His name is Forest Floyd.  I have no idea where he is, or if he is, any more.  Last time I saw him was graduation in June 1970.  But he was a good guy, and Lumberton must have had some responsibility for that.

Yes, Lumberton NC.  Even though--it's true!--I am neither vixmom nor play her on TV.  But we've both posted about Lumberton as our "halfway" stop on the way to/from Florida over the years.

Ah!  So she and vixdad weren't visiting anyone there...just on their way to Florida?

That immediately made me think of the strikingly simple storefronts in Archer City, TX, in my one pilgrimage to the bookstores of Larry McMurtry, may he RIP.

The bad news is I think we have a thief in the building. I didn't know that Ann and Jen were away for the weekend, and I saw a package for Ann on either Friday or Saturday. Someone's snatched it.

It actually amazes me to think of all the years I lived in buildings with common mail/package areas, because to the best of my memory, I never once had a package go missing.

Of course nowadays the world has front porch thieves who literally cruise neighborhoods for packages to swipe. That in itself makes me glad this house is so secluded from the street.

Oscar noms - was really hoping Emilia Jones would get up, but noooo - we must have the always-nominated Olivia Coleman and Nicole Kidman. The latter is especially infuriating. And I like Javier Bardem but his nomination for that film is a joke. Glad the supporting guy is up for CODA and I think he has a real chance. And it's up for best picture, which is nice, although I find the ten films thing stupid.

In the last hour she has climbed onto my lap to be held and then sher climbed onto the computer table to be close to me. I think all is now good.

Whew!  That's very good news, Larry!

I made only one trek myself. Home. All those books made me feel right at home.

Unless a neighbor took it in to keep it from being snatched.

I think it's simply pandering to get as many folks interested in watching/following the program as possible.
