Eve Arden was, of course, who I pictured for Bernice, and Matthau, too, although he would not match the character physically. I modeled him physically after my uncle Al Kingston who, like Harry, was a literary agent. Bernice is the easier part to cast these days - Lily Tomlin, Bette Midler, any of those types of dames who can do dry humor. Harry is much harder to cast. Physically, Richard Dreyfuss would be fine, but I'm not sure his personality and Harry's would mesh, but he's an awfully good actor.  Enjoying the suggestions, though.

Yes he is and probably would be good.  What about Albert Brooks?

Or Mel Books?

Thanks, everyone, for all your vibes. My brother-in-law is out of surgery, and it was apparently successful.

Wonderful news.

I think $1.00 for a 10 pound box of mice is a pretty good deal.

All the fans of this series are still waiting for the 3rd and final book.  Reading the comments on Goodreads people are really pissed at the author.

One person posted the following:
Hi, my name is Caleb. Greg was actually my father, I am posting on his account. My father, Greg, started reading this series when he was 55. He has since died of old age waiting for the conclusion of this story. So, I ask you this: Will the finale of this trilogy be released before I die of old age, as well? I would like to be able to explain how the story ended, to my father, in the afterlife. Thank you.

I hope this is sarcasm as he says "old age". ;D

I know I have an uneducated palate.  Maybe a palate that didn't even go to kindergarten.

Friday I was perusing the condiment aisle and decided at almost 72, perhaps it was time to try a different mustard than French's.

I studied all of the selections and chose Dijon.

I tried it....on a hot dog....and had to throw the hot dog away.  Back to French's.  I am a mustard heathen.

I am not a fan of mustard and only like a little French's in egg salad or deviled eggs.

Hi Jeanne.  How are the new eye drops working for you?

Hi, Jane. They are fine. I'm using up some older ones, since the Refresh drops are better. Did I mention that what I bought was a 3-pack? I didn't know it at the time and thought $14 was a bit high. For a 3-pack it isn't high at all. At this time I am not planning on the plugs, but will be interested in your friend's experience.

I had a vivid dream last night. I was in some small town, expecting to spend the night in a hotel. Instead, Almetia, Mitt's mother and old friend of Joe Biden, had a one-bedroom cottage that happened to be vacant. She took me to it. I loved the vines crawling up the wall near the front door. As we walked through it I suddenly realized there was an older woman, a friend of Almetia's, in the back room. She was sitting quietly and I hadn't even realized she was there. We spoke to her and I learned she did the cleaning and also prepared some food for me.

Jrand, is Almetia trying to help me find housing? God knows Delaware has housing that's affordable. What is your take on this? (Check your paypal account.)

Fine, not great ;)  I don't think any of them are great.  Then you tried the Relieva drops?  I thought your doctor also recommended the gel drops, but then maybe you meant these are gel drops.

I suspect some educated palates also have some old favorites from childhood or simply prefer simplier food at times. I used to have a friend who was a chef to Navy big-wigs, but he himself often chose the most dreadful food.

I am sooo tired of remarks like this. Does Caleb think it's easy to write a novel? Or that it happens overnight? BK turns them out very quickly, but that is unusual. Caleb also seems to think that these things should be done for his convenience -- or his dad's. I've often seen Netflix reviewers demand that Netflix obtain certain movies they want to see, without a thought to licensing agreements or whether the film is even available. Do they think that if they demand it it will be done? Ugh!
