Gelson's salad bar ain't exactly cheap, however. Twelve bucks. But I may do the salad thing more often - maybe a couple of days where I do nothing BUT salads.

I left Sacramento this morning, stopped for a while at Pismo Beach before heading home. I know there's a terrible fire somewhere in California, and the GPS took me on a strange detour that added quite a bit to my drive today.

Sunset happened when I was in Oxnard, I think. I knew motels close to the coast would be pricy on a holiday weekend, so I drove inland quite a ways before stopping.
