I just got the greatest news ever. My boss texted me. Our division applied for an excemption from the new state policy, and it was approved. I will NOT have to return to the office, but can continue working remotely 100%.

That's fantastic, singdaw!

Yes, DR Jane. The carpets, flooring, and paint have all been re-done in the past week.

That's great!

That is WONDERFUL news. I was a model remote worker (if I say so myself), and I wish MY boss would make that happen again.

Oh wait.

I haven't been in that job since 2011.

I'm sorry you can't continue to work from home.

Congratulations! Especially since, if I am remembering correctly, you didn't have an office to return to. Hope tomorrow's move goes well.

Popeye's was having a 30% off deal - so I got chicken tenders - I don't they're so good there, frankly. I like the breasts, but there's something a little rank about the tenders.

Unsatisfying. Unfortunately, you can't order chicken by the piece like you can if you go there.

I did not go there, hence the problem.

Been a weird day mostly because I'm so irritated about the non-arrival of what should be arriving.

Puts me in a kind of limbo, in terms of wanting to actually be productive.

Peyton's mom sent me a video of Peyton and I doing my arrangement of Two Lost Souls, which Guy Haines recorded with Susan Egan. I had and have no memory of doing this with Peyton and I must say, it's pretty damn adorable. I'll post it in the notes.

Almost 24 hours into Combee, a history of the raid on South Carolina rice plantations during the Civil War. Harriet Tubman was involved. Hundreds were freed during the raid. It’s fascinating, if a little long. I still have 90 minutes to go.

Maybe not having an office to return to is why the boss managed to get this approved :)

I'm glad you don't have to go back to an office, Singdaw. Especially since that's why you moved to a bigger apartment.

They play a note, like on the piano, and then I remember it to this day. And then they’d ask you other questions, and then they’d play notes later on, and they’d say, ‘Which is the note we played from one hour ago?’ And I’d, like, get it right, I guess.”

Sandra is 100% remote as well. I hope she doesn't have to go back to an office, either. She doesn't drive and the bus doesn't go very close to where her old office was. Her old office is in the rich part of town; rich people don't take the bus out here.
