I could really go for a clafoutis right about now.

We're about 4-6 weeks away from fresh sour cherry season here. That will be time to make my clafoutis, plus rice pulao with sour cherries.

Finished Michael Connelly’s latest, Nightshade. It launches a new detective, Stillwell, and he’s an interesting character. But the mystery itself was thin and too readily apparent.

Wow, it was just released yesterday.  Darn about the mystery.
You mean I waited that long to finish?

That you read it quickly in one day.

I'm currently reading The Emperor of Gladness by Ocean Vuong and it is taking me longer than usual to get through it, mostly because I've had less time to read.

Last night I went to bed at 6:30 p.m. and I was OUT. I woke up a couple of times -- once to get some Tylenol for a headache. But I went back to sleep pretty quickly.

Hmmm, I wonder if you will have to stop donating.  A friend of mine did as she just felt to bad after each donation.

I did fine. I sometimes get headaches. This one was probably a bit of dehydration. I live in the desert, after all.

It is my understanding that one should drink water before doing labs.  I would think that you need to drink lots of water before donating blood.

I drink soooo much water. But it is out of my system quickly. Then the bloodletting takes some. And I drink more afterwards because I'm thirsty. It's strange.

They play a note, like on the piano, and then I remember it to this day. And then they’d ask you other questions, and then they’d play notes later on, and they’d say, ‘Which is the note we played from one hour ago?’ And I’d, like, get it right, I guess.”

Girl From the North Country, the Bob Dylan jukebox musical, is on PBS Friday night.

I saw the touring show. I'll pass.

They were gifted a ton of celebrity slides at various locations. She knows I know locations here really well, so I've been helping to ID. For example, she had Charles Laughton entering what she thought was a restaurant. It took me an hour or so, but it wasn't a restaurant. The photos are dated and this was 1962. He was filming Advise and Consent at the time. So, I checked the Columbia studios on Gower - I always search off photos. And there it was - he was going in the main entrance on Gower, camera facing toward Sunset.

That's really cool, BK.

It is hard to imagine that you become dehydrated.

My tactics apparently didn't work. I have been empanelled on a jury for a criminal trial which starts tomorrow afternoon.

Hope it's quick and you deliver an accurate verdict!

I assume that it'll be available to stream on PBS' website for a period of time. :)

Now watching Fierce Creatures, the reunion movie for John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline and Michael Palin. It’s not all that. But parts are good. And Jamie Lee rises above the sexist drivel of her part.

Singdaw, be sure to make your Facebook page and all other social media pages private. The lawyers' staff will be reading everything. They will look for reasons to throw out your verdict and/or to haul jurors in front of the judge for misconduct.

In all the years I've had Facebook, the ONLY time I received a message from Facebook that someone had attempted to access my account was when I was on a jury.

Take seriously their threat about talking about the case with anyone.
