I guess that means it's the first time a Broadway show was being shown on TV as it was being performed in real time. (I thought there had been some Live from Lincoln Center showings from the Vivian Beaumont Theater - but I assume not, if CNN is saying what they're saying - or they're not counting Lincoln Center for some reason?)

I haven't caught up on posts, so I don't know if this has been mentioned here, but Legally Blonde was shown live on MTV back when that was on Broadway, and they made a big deal about THAT being the first Broadway show shown live on TV.
