Not sure what to think. She acts up a storm. But the music is rephrased. Would anyone change Lucia di L’s mad scene aria? Sure, even Shakespeare is open to reinterpretation. Still, … Consider me torn.

If you've read Directed by, that performance is a very clear example of what I mean by too much sauce. ACTING, in all caps. First of all, the number itself does a lot of the heavy lifting. But I suspect this production doesn't have a lot of the comedy that most have, but that's the genius of Arthur Laurents' book.
