One of my favorite things each year is being asked by Bruce to proofread his books. This year, I feel doubly fortunate since he's written a second book. I won't reveal anything about it, except to say that it moved me very deeply. And yes, this old curmudgeon even shed a tear or two on more than one occasion. It's the most heart-felt book of his that I've read, and I've read all but a couple of the early ones.
I had a lovely evening on the Guadalupe tonight. Dinner with friends outdoors at the Gristmill, a wonderful restaurant with the likes of chicken-fried steak, beef tenderloin salad and chicken topped with queso and salsa. I, of course, had trout. Oh well.
Had faux chicken stroganoff for food - very good.
Today and even this evening were much better than yesterday. Voice is a bit stronger. Vaporizer arrived but I haven't set it up yet. I'll probably do that tomorrow.
They had a pair of musicians playing in the courtyard there, so we listened to them. They were fun, old-time rock. Tom Petty stuff. Plus, "If I Only Had a Heart" from The Wizard of Oz.
The drive home was horrible, however, as most of I-35 had been reduced from five lanes to one, causing an hour or more delay in the traffic.
More vibes for BK.
Unlimited Data - that's the title of my next novel.
