The trailer for Blue Moon has been released, with Ethan Hawke playing Lorenz Hart:

Thanks for sharing! Linklater and Hawke together are usually a fabulous combination, and this sure looks promising.

TOD: I've been listening to Domingo's second recording of Samson et Dalila in preparation for our first music rehearsal on Wednesday.

For my purposes I need a chorus with good diction that's well-recorded. The Chśurs de l'Opéra Bastille succeed on all counts.

Often the tenor section in opera chorus recordings is the hardest one to hear. But on this recording they are often the most prominent section, which I appreciate.

Book just hit Amazon, but I can't really post about it until they consolidate the listings - each is listed separately at the moment - soft and hardcover and eBook - and until they consolidate the two reviews only show up on the eBook. I just sent a message about it - last book it happened pretty quickly.

Since we've got photos of Jane and Keith in Astoria today -

It felt like an excuse for uploading this admiration of the much-talked-about renovation of the Waldorf Astoria.

This is turning out to be a really major story of Broadway about this year's Tony winning Best Musical.

"‘Maybe Happy Ending’ Casting Change Ignites Debate About Representation
When the show said Andrew Barth Feldman, a white actor, would replace Darren Criss, who is of Filipino descent, alarms were sounded by some Asian American actors."

Two billion isn't all that much money on Park Avenue, but when you spend two-billion here and a billion there, eventually you're talking real money.

$8.99 for that Burger King with brisket sandwich is sounding downright cheap all of a sudden.

I have this recording. Johnny Green was a dear man. We worked together not long before he died.

Discreet Charm was indeed excellent. I liked it much better than what you hear as Act I on the Here We Are recording. We also saw a couple scenes from The Phantom of Liberty.

Tonight is opening night for the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music. The program features works by Corigliano, Mazzoli, and Nina Shekhar, with Jennifer Koh as violin soloist in the Mazzoli piece.
