I slept very well. Around 4:00 Thatch changed positions on the bed to cuddle. At the moment, Annabelle seems to be happy sleeping all night with us and that makes me happy. Now that she's eight years old, she may find climbing the bookcases a bit of a chore.

DRs, my move to New York was prompted in 1979 by my friend Eugene Sher, who had moved to Manhattan with Peggy, his girlfriend at the time. Eugene moved to Los Angeles in the early 1990s, where he died far too young, and Peggy and I have remained friends for years; I've seen her get married to Peter Salwen, raise two sons and occasional cat, run different children's libraries for the NYPL, and she is now heading toward the great unknown, thanks to ALS.
