I break salads into two categories: sandwich and table, so here are my thoughts:
Sandwich: shrimp. tuna, chicken
On my first trip to New York, Dec. 1966, I discovered the inexpensive Chock Full o' Nuts restaurant chain and fell in love with their shrimp salad.
Table: Cobb, tomato & mozzarella, Mexican, three-bean, macaroni, potato
