I also finished a book today, Tonight in Jungleland, about the recording.

It was a little too journalistic.

Interestingly, the weather map shows the really big cell skirting right around me. It must have really been something in the middle of it!

It's good that you weren't in the middle of it.

Taking another break, but if I proof a few more pages, I'll have done two-thirds and I can probably finish in a few days. They sent me a $250 gift card for The Cheesecake Factory, so that's fun. More gift cards coming, I'm told. So many misspelled names or wrong names completely - so cleaning all that up is a good thing. She also talks about seeing Richard Pryor in 1976 (she didn't - it was late 75) and how there was no opening act, but there was - I have an image of the poster from that, his ONLY engagement at the Shubert in Century City - Etta James. She said no at first, but then thought about it and agreed that Etta had opened the show.

So, my burning question of the day is: what do y'all think of hot (spicy) honey? It seems to be everywhere these days - recipes, menus. I have never tried it myself, but I'm curious.

I've been invited to the 100th birthday party of a woman who lives in our building. It's in a few weeks.

Starting Crossed Swords, which isn’t as good as the Musketeers movies.

Can gift cards be used for takeout?

That could be as good as getting paid.  It could keep you having good quality meals for a long while.

I know ChasSmith will love this video on YouTube, but I think others will, too - home movies on Hollywood Blvd. Sabucat, whose channel it's on, is someone I've known for forty years - fellow collector from way back when. He lists this clip as being from 1970. Close, but no cigar. The double bill at the Hollywood opened on February 10, 1971 and played a couple of weeks there. However, on Feb 10th, the Chinese was playing The Great White Hope. They didn't ever take a shot of the marquee and were pretty far away from the one-sheet display, but I could tell the one-sheet wasn't The Great White Hope. So, I went to February 17 - the double bill at the Hollywood was still the same and the Chinese opened a new movie on that date, Promise at Dawn, and that is exactly the one-sheet in the display case. So, this footage was shot between the 17th and the 23rd. I think Jane will enjoy this, too.

Kill me now. There's gold in this thing, and it will get much further study. Some absolutely precious shots of things, big and small. That's funny, M*A*S*H at the Vogue, because I think I saw it at the Egyptian sometime in the following year. Amazing, all of it.

It seems to usually be a gimmick to sweeten and spice otherwise boring food. If it's a savory, I don't need it sweet; if it's dessert, I don't want it spicy.

I saw it used to drizzle on a watermelon salad with mint and feta.
