General Tso's tastes close to orange flavor, at least at our local Ollie's restaurant - and I do notice that the General Tso's chicken from our Ollie's seems quite variable as to crispiness, though the flavor of the sauce is quite consistent.

And maybe since I already knew the songs from the Larry Kramer-Bacharach and David "Lost Horizon" by the time I first saw it, I enjoyed it. The two parts seemed not to work together, but the movie soundtrack is most enjoyable, and the screenplay by Larry Kramer (who went on to work like The Normal Heart) seems pretty well-written.

Not sure I shared our one and only Barnes and Noble review. This woman and her daughter have reviewed almost all my books and they've written me several lovely emails over the years. They are certainly what I'd call loyal readers. It's always fun to get a nice review, but it's more fun when it's from folks you've never really met.

My daughter and I love this author - we never know what to expect and we're always surprised, in a good way. We discovered him when a friend recommended his Adriana Hofstetter mysteries, which my then pre-teen daughter fell in love with. Those led us to his other books. Whether fiction or memoir, we are always delighted. We love the Harry Stearns mysteries and his Benjamin Kritzer books so much. When we read that his latest was about his friendship with one half of the Sherman Brothers we couldn't wait to get it. Who didn't grow up loving the songs from Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Charlotte's Web? The portrait painted in this loving memoir is so vivid and warm that you feel that you know Richard Sherman. As Mr. Kimmel says in the book, it was impossible to meet Richard Sherman and not fall in love and that is evident on every page. The story of this unexpected friendship delighted us from start to finish.

As she always does, my daughter grabbed it first and disappeared into her room. When she emerged after finishing it, she was wiping tears away. She handed me the book and told me I had to read it immediately and I did and I was in tears by the end of it too. But it's not a sad book. It's a book about two people who were soulmates who were meant to meet. The way they met is so astonishing and one of my favorite parts of the book. We are so grateful he decided to write this book and both daughter and mom think you will love it - if you love the songs of the Sherman Brothers and especially if you've ever had a friend who was a true soulmate."
