Oh, one more thing...

BK was talking about the sound of theater recordings.

I had occasion to re-listen to The Light in the Piazza over this past weekend.

I still love the score and its hyper-romanticism. But I was really disappointed in the sound. The vocals have too much reverb, and they are buried way back in the mix under the orchestra.

I have started Isle of Dogs. It’s not my favorite Wes Anderson flick.

Other than the last bits of Bunker Hill and a couple of nice street shots downtown, this director person is more interested in filming signs and traffic lights and adult marquees and strip clubs, never getting wide enough to actually see where we are. Other than the Hollywood sign, I'm not sure anything else was shot in Hollywood, odd for a movie called Hollywood 90028 (and a zillion other titles). I have to read up on it to see what's what.

Was listening to the new recording of Love Life, all of which is on YouTube - but I'd have to see a track list to figure out the order. First impression, sound-wise, is that like most albums today, the sound is dead - muffled, the band sounds tinny because it's in a dead room and no air (reverb) has been added. I'm so over people producing albums who know zip about how theater albums should sound, i.e. like you're there, present, like any Goddard Lieberson album.

That's really too bad.

My second act stuff is my (as Glossop) death scene in the first scene, then ensemble stuff throughout act two, then I'm the minister at the end.

It was recorded so low that I had to turn my speaker up to almost full volume to hear it! :o

The On Broadway channel on Sirius XM radio can be kept at a comfortable level 12, but for this CD it was over 25!

Anyway, I brought the CD set to my TV room where I have my still-working Winows XP computer with the Creative WaveStudio .WAV editor program.

First, I ripped the CD to .WAV files, then I was able to raise the volume on the files without it getting distorted.

AND, I want to see if my car will recognize the metadata on the new CD-Rs and display any title or track info.
