The most interesting thing I did during my absence was yesterday afternoon.  My friend Lynne and I went to the new performing arts center at the University of Dayton for an author event in the Jewish Community Center’s Cultural Arts and Book Series.  We met up there with Sharon and Sue and enjoyed an interview with Jane Eisner about her new book Carole King: She Made the Earth Move.  Before the interview a UD ensemble called Bella Voce performed a couple of CK songs.  There was a nice dessert buffet and book signing afterwards.

It sounds like a nice day out with friends.

Vibes for DR JANE.

Thank you.  Once I finally get this test done I will relax.  The delays have been stressful.

Yesterday's J&H matinee went quite well.  We were almost sold out, and the audience thoroughly enjoyed the performance!

Great.

Thanks, Jane.

You are welcome.

Since going on the prednisone I have had more energy than usual.  Some people find it too much, for me I think it has really been like a normal person experiences.

That's great, Jane!

And nice while it lasted.  Tomorrow I will begin reducing my prednisone by 5mg.  It is a slow process.

Freddie, to answer your castrecl question: Into the Woods in previews had a different second act from the show presented on opening night. I think I heard there were three versions. The version I saw was touching and sentimental, with a reunion of the father/narrator, his son (the baker) and the newborn. The version on opening night, of course, has the narrator offered up to the witch.

And I think the second act was never solved.

And "Boom Crunch" is pathetic. Not to the Sondheads, who believe Sondheim's used toilet paper is manuscript.

I hope I didn't have too large of a snack.  I am not to eat two hours prior to the test in case the iv contrast makes me nauseated.  Now I am too full-lol

Thanks DR FREDDIE.

Well.....probably not - but she was very good....I ran the lights so I saw many rehearsals and all the performances.

It was the first play there that we used music during scenes of a play - the publishing company sent along an LP with music.

Jim said can you run the lights and play this music?  I said OF COURSE.

I transferred it to a cassette player that made the cues easier find and play.....and it was lovely....I'm trying to think of the composer of the music....

oh Paul Bowles. Henry Mancini used it in the 1987 movie version as well.

I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep. And now - gunk. Maybe I had whatever I had months ago, except that I haven't felt sick at all and still don't. Maybe the gunk just builds up during sleep.

Sad news about Klaus Doldinger. Thanks for letting us know, DR Rodzinski. I was just on a Passport phase a couple months ago, catching up on their 80s albums.

One expectorates, oh, yes, one expectorates. And sings this catchy tune:

I'm gonna get that gunk right out of my throat,
I'm gonna get that gunk right out of my throat,
I'm gonna get that gunk right out of my throat,
And send it on its way!

Well, it's been a HELL of a day. And it's a Monday, so it was one HELL of a MONDAY.

There was so much stress getting this test booked that I have been nervous something would jinx it.

I went extra early to my appointment, didn't have any traffic and immediately found a convenient parking spot.
