What Broadway musical cast recording that is not generally appreciated do you think the rest of us would enjoy?

I will start by mentioning NEW GIRL IN TOWN with several snappy numbers and some really pretty solo songs and duets.

Yesterday's Amazon Fresh delivery did me in. After crawling about on the kitchen floor, tugging bags and shooing cats, dragging packs of 24 bottles of water, and raising and lowering myself too many times, my legs, knee and hip joints began to scream, Genug ist Genug! and worked on their terms, not mine. Around 4:30 I literally crawled into bed and focused on very little. I cannot remember a thing I watched, but all three cats lay with me; at various times Stella fought with Annabelle, and Annabelle fought with Thatch. Yjis morning y legs are still in great pain but I need to cart a lot of empty bags and other items to the basement.

I enjoyed a lot of songs on the BRING BACK BIRDIE cast album.

The show is over and the second act was as good as the first!

All the actors were really good...not a weak link in the bunch.

I didn't get a picture of the trunk that Henry and Mortimer come out of, but it was really nice, too.

The place only holds 40 seats, and this is where I was sitting:

Literally, right next to the harp.

There were no microphones and you could hear everyone and everything.

It was an absolutely delightful production!

Today, I'm going to see (former) DR Jed in a production of The Fantasticks in Tacoma!  It's the same theater company where I stage managed An Inspector Calls last year.  It'll be fun to see him again!

I saw the Frankenstein musical. Talk about Genug ist Genug.

Have you seen the National Theatre play version with Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller who switched back and forth playing Frankenstein and the Creature?  I saw both versions and it was amazing!

ARLEN AUCTION:

The composer Harold Arlen is best known for the Oscar he won for The Wizard of Oz in 1940. He lived another 46 years without quite matching that feat and left whatever was in his estate to his nephews.

It now turns out he owned a rare early painting by Salvador Dali.

The subject bore a close resemblance to Arlen’s wife.

The painting will be sold at auction by Doyles in NY on November 20.
