A few perfect movies, IMO.

Casablanca (Michael Curtiz)
Vertigo and Notorious (Hitchcock
The Dead (Huston)
Tokyo Story (Ozu)
Smiles of a Summer Night (Bergman)
Perfect Days (Wenders)

I would have snagged that Cinderella record were my financial fortunes not up in the air.

Costco is a madhouse today. Do people think today is the holiday?

I was surprised how busy it was on Friday.  I expect it will only get worse going forward.

After a weekend away, I'm back to big-ass salads again. The food was good, though. Mostly.

Mostly when traveling is pretty good.

Assuming my flights aren't cancelled, I'll be seeing Ragtime, Queen of Versailles, and Chess on Broadway next week, in that order. After my experience with Opening Night, I wanted to get to them soon after they opened, just in case.

Good meeting lasting 40 minutes. Feb.  2027, ballet concert at North Carolina School of the Arts. I asked for 14 players; if the concert also becomes the orchestra concert, I may have 40!

That's wonderful, Larry!  Congrats!

Watching Let’s Dance, perhaps my least favorite Fred Astaire movie. The script and Betty Hutton are largely to blame.

A shame.  I just watched the trailer and enjoyed it.

This Saturday I'll be seeing a community theater production of Fun Home, which I haven't seen before. The actress playing Helen was the Isabel to my Pozzo when we did a concert production of Sousa's El Capitan.

Hope you like the show.  I've seen a couple of local productions (and actually with the same lead) and they were both very well done.

I need to pick up some medication refills at Fred Meyer and was thinking about going to Costco for a hot dog or one of their new calzones...crowds be damned! :)

Got a number of films and shows at the library today. Three are many hours long, including the film of The Iceman Cometh. It’s not some Trumpian nonsense or nightmare.

It’s the O’Neill play, of course. I loved Lee Marvin and Robert Ryan in it back then.

This news story made me smile.

"Federal officers stationed at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in South Portland watched from the rooftop on Sunday as a new protest crowd gathered across the street.
About two dozen Fulcrum Fitness members and supporters, dressed in neon leotards, striped knee socks and sneakers, staged a peaceful 80s-themed aerobics demonstration called “Sweatin’ Out the Fascists.”
