Tonight will be the first read-through/rehearsal for Theater Artists Olympia's next production, Anna Considers Mars. by Ruben Grijalva.  I haven't read the script yet, but I do have a copy of it.  I think it has some sci-fi element(s) to it, but I don't know how sci-fi-y it is.

Sounds like a fun work!

A 2 a.m. phone call from Nigeria woke me up.

Well, that's rude!

I may have read somewhere that "Pitting the Child" was the original name of "Pity the Child" from CHESS.

Exhausted, but survived our tech Sunday. Some very good food was brought in by the cast and we ate well. Most of the day went well. Back at it tonight.

I haven't had catfish since ... well, very likely not in 40 years or longer. I love many kinds of fish, but I never think of that one when faced with a decision.

Dentist today! Cleaning and checkup. I had to postpone this one a couple of times, so I've got to get it done!

Can’t say that I like catfish. Always seems to taste a little muddy to me.

As MR BK mentioned there are many videos on YouTube about pitting and other chase techniques.

And there are always a couple on each episode of ON PATROL LIVE that airs LIVE on the REELZ network on Friday and Saturday night. The show follows eight different police departments LIVE on each three hour episode - starting at 9 p.m......although there is an early bird special starting and 8 p.m. as well....but 4 hours might be too much.

I think The Fuller Brush Man used to come to our house when I was younger than school age.

We also had the Jewel Tea Man who had a great truck and had some great merchandise.  I think my mother once bought a full set of multicolored Melmac dinnerware from here.  That stuff lasted forever and I still may have a saucer or two.

And of course The Fuller Brush Girl is a wonderful and funny movie with Miss Lucille Ball and Mr. Eddie Albert.

At that particular time a local channel WTTV Channel Four had a movie series. They would show the same movie at 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. each day for FIVE days in a row.

I always watched on Monday morning - and if i liked it - I could watch it ten times in five days.  Many Astaire & Rogers films, King Kong, Stage Door, etc. the RKO catalog with some Columbia throw in....the RKO movies had a new title card that said C & C Presents.

I think one of my aunts might have sold Tupperware. I remember going to a lot of Tupperware parties. My mother loved Avon parties.

Fuller Brush man, yes.

Jewel Tea man, yes. I don't remember what they sold, and I'm not cheating by looking it up yet. Aren't those the parked brown trucks in the "Cool" scene of West Side Story?

I remember my mom at least going to Tupperware parties, if not having them herself.

Of course there were the encyclopedia salesman, which is probably how my parents bought the "Book of Knowledge" one which was so lacking in quality in relation to Britannica or World Book, etc. And Bible salesmen, which might be how they bought our first "modern" 4-speed record player in the mid-1950s that came with "the talking Bible" complete on 16rpm records.

And the Charles Chips home deliveries of potato chips. Something else, too, was it popcorn?

The Avon Lady! Or Avon parties. How could I forget that?

Like DR Elmore, I think I was at a couple of the Tupperware parties. Maybe we did have one or more at our house. No way of knowing unless my sister might remember.

I'm watching Youtube videos about Thanksgiving cooking.

Does anyone really eat green bean casserole made from canned green beans? Sounds really gross. No one in my house would touch it, I'm sure.

And these $20 or $40 complete dinners at grocery stores.

I don't think so.

We ate so many things from cans back in the day that I'd guess we might have, DR Laura.

I remember asparagus from cans. I grew up thinking that's what asparagus was like.

I never ate a fresh peach or pear until I was an adult. Only canned.

Every Thanksgiving until 1975, which was most often held at my Aunt Jean's home in Hamilton, Ohio. She died, I believe in late 1975 or early 1976.
