I didn't know that had come out.  I'm surprised I never brought that one.

Maybe they didn't have it at Korvettes or Alexander's, my main sources for LPs back then.

It was a limited edition “private” press of 1,000 copies, so maybe was only sold at shows.

Just reading, yeah, it toured first, and John Payne was replaced before it came to Broadway?

I like this note on ibdb for a show that was in 1974.

"Opening night credits for this production have not yet been finalized."

No rush getting that finalized, it's only been 51 years.

Garry Marshall was brought in to rewrite at some point. Lynda Goodfriend was in the ensemble, later to become Lori Beth on Happy Days.

With Payne still in large bold on the cast album cover, it is unlikely they had it for sale at shows once Gene Nelson took over.
