Watched a low-budget movie from 1957 starring James Best and Mala Powers. Interesting movie, poorly directed, score by Ernest Gold. But two great location shots - one at 2712 Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica, a jernt called Pickle Pete's, which was quite popular back then and which I'm shocked I don't recall ever seeing on our many drives to see the grandparents. This jernt was located just east by one block from what became, in the mid-1960s, the Morgan Theater, where I directed a couple of shows in 1974.
