I was just about to post this last night:

HOWDY, RUPERT!

Congratulations, singdaw, on the passing of your glorious new 67,000-post Millstone.

Congrats, Singdaw!!  Not preserved until a few posts after, but worth preserving, nonetheless!

I'm feeling a bit under the weather. I had too many leg cramps last night, and I'm feeling a bit melancholic this morning.

Anything specific, or about the state of the country?

This is a Encores! day. Once kitty cleanup is over, I'll spend the day working on that.

Nope. Just feeling old, I guess/

And yet you've been more accomplished these past two years than almost all people in the business decades younger.

I woke up at 5:50, turned the heat up a little, and went right back to bed. Two (count 'em) hours later I woke up again and got up. Now I couldn't be groggier.

More coffee!!

I hope my own improves, too. I need to wake the HELL up and be up for our closing performance tonight. Well, I do have the whole day for that.

Kitty cleanup is finished. As soon as I deal with the bed, I will get to my worktable.

To the annoyance of my neighbors, the holiday music has begun! DRs, what holiday recordings do you listen to most often? I think these are my choices:
Classical: Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Charles Mackerras
Folk: Joan Baez "Noël"
Choral: New York City Gay Men's Chorus
Show Music: Moonshine & Mistletoe
orchestral: Arthur Fiedler ad the Boston Pops
Vocal: Julie Andrews and Andre Previn
Compilation: BK's Christmas on Broadway

Saturday morning greetings!  Sunny and cold in SW Ohio today - my favorite kind of winter day.

That makes me remember how sunny and cold were some of my favorite winter days in Chicagoland.

Since I was last here Richard and I finished up our Christmas shopping and celebrated Hanukkah by eating at Izzy’s.  I also participated in both of my book clubs - one in person, one on Zoom - and baked shortbread cut-out Christmas cookies.  We’ll decorate those tomorrow and take them with us to Illinois.

Shoestrings have been my favorite french fries since I was in high school. I mean that literally. I've never forgotten a moment of epiphany on that at some place we were taken to eat on a state contest/choral trip to Daytona Beach in the mid-1960s.

But any french fries cooked in beef tallow like in those very years are also my favorites, whatever their actual cut. So there you are.
