I slept well, and I'm rarin' to get back to te dan ce secrion of "Something Tells Me." I did manage to turn off the excessive heat, so all four of us slept well. Around 4:00, Annabelle crawled inder the blankets to get warm and made a lot of noise purring, chirping, and trilling her delight. There must be Maine Coom in her genetic pool.

Yesterday morning, things went well: nice bath, finished "I Know Your Heart by Heart," Joshie came by to pick it up. I had a nice lnch. Then, without warning, I was sick from around 3:00 to 4:30 or so. When I finally staggered out of the bathroom, I had removed the affected clothes and rolled them up intoa towel for the laundry. I then had to dress in fresh clothes and mop up the mess leading from living area to bathroom. If my legs didn't move at a snail's pace, I might have reached the bathroom before the heaves began. I finished cleanup of my mess, the cats' dishes, and mine around 6:00. I gave the cats their treat and went to bed.

I was concerned when a li'l pension payment wasn't showing up in my checking account as of this morning. It's due on the first of the month but is usually there a few days beforehand. I called, sat on hold for about 40 minutes, and the sweet young thing from Virginia (or was it Maryland?) who finally came on the line explained that a new IRS regulation requires them to make January payments IN January; i.e., on the first business day of the month, so it'll be there on Friday. All other payments through the year will probably continue to show up a few days early, then the same thing will happen at the end of next December.

So don't it figure -- the one time someone is SO thorough, friendly, and actually HELPFUL that you'd actually want to give them a glowing review or be wiling to sit for a survey on their behalf... there was zero invitation to do any such thing.

Tonight we'll just be here at home, but I make no promises as to how late I'll be staying up this time.

The tradition here since the Year of Covid, 2020, is that Kristi holds a basically all-night zoom call starting around 9 p.m. with the people who used to be our usual suspects when we had our New Years' Eve par-tays prior to 2020. It was always the same 8 or 10 people, and everyone was so comfortable with that routine and familiarity that it just never changed. But a few of them had moved across the country so it wouldn't quite have been the same, anyway, and the zoom call carries on the tradition beautifully. We still set out the snacks in the dining room where she has the call going, and Nathan and I wander in and out while basically stationing ourselves in our recliners in the next room watching something, or me logging on, or whatever we do. It's a thoroughly enjoyable but safe and relaxing evening. I'm just hitting the sack earlier this week because of the huge month it's been and because I'm just out of my cold, so, again, no guarantees.

She actually stays up with the zoom callers till all hours, until the last person drops. They have a couple of wacky card games that are good for playing online, which is part of the tradition from when it was a "live" par-tay.

Last I heard, we're supposed to get anywhere from a "covering" to two inches of you-know-what tonight. We devoutly hope it won't even be that much, so it will be leafblower-blowable tomorrow morning. Please, universe, hear our prayer.

From DR Rodzinski,

Quote
I had to go down to normie Washington for physical therapy and a Costco run. Fog as thick as pea soup from the late Andersen’s in Solvang.

Where is that?  How was your PT visit?
