Tonight we'll just be here at home, but I make no promises as to how late I'll be staying up this time.

The tradition here since the Year of Covid, 2020, is that Kristi holds a basically all-night zoom call starting around 9 p.m. with the people who used to be our usual suspects when we had our New Years' Eve par-tays prior to 2020. It was always the same 8 or 10 people, and everyone was so comfortable with that routine and familiarity that it just never changed. But a few of them had moved across the country so it wouldn't quite have been the same, anyway, and the zoom call carries on the tradition beautifully. We still set out the snacks in the dining room where she has the call going, and Nathan and I wander in and out while basically stationing ourselves in our recliners in the next room watching something, or me logging on, or whatever we do. It's a thoroughly enjoyable but safe and relaxing evening. I'm just hitting the sack earlier this week because of the huge month it's been and because I'm just out of my cold, so, again, no guarantees.

It sounds like a lovely tradition I would not be able to keep.

DR John,

What a shame Gary Owen was dreadful.

I don’t like most comedians. I’m too old to find their material funny. He had a 10-minute routine about P. Diddy. Sorry, I don’t want details about his horrific sex life, much less take that abuse and turn it into comedy.

When I left the house at 10, it was 45 degrees. It’s now 65 and it feels much warmer.

My friend Steve has a birthday tomorrow. He wanted to go to Brazilian steakhouse for his big day. So, I am here a half-hour early waiting for the 2 pm opening.

My beloved Kim Criswell just posted the 24th 5-star review for Annabelle & Thatch on Amazon.com.uk:
What can I say about a book that gave me hours of unmitigated delight? JUST READ IT—you won’t regret it! Full disclosure: Larry and I are friends, so I know just how perfect the picture that he’s drawn of his life with these lovable felines is. Knowing him as a musician, I had not really seen the full extent of his literary imagination, and am utterly delighted by his whimsy, warmth, intelligence, and open heart! I can’t really describe this book—just READ IT! It will brighten your world, move you and tickle you in equal measure—give yourself a delightful present; I promise you won’t regret it! I LOVED IT LARRY!

From DR Rodzinski,

Quote
I had to go down to normie Washington for physical therapy and a Costco run. Fog as thick as pea soup from the late Andersen’s in Solvang.

Where is that?  How was your PT visit?
Not bad. Trying to regain some flexibility in my right shoulder.
