DR FREDDIE I have a Playbill from that particular show.

Miss Carroll wrote in her book that she enjoyed working with Garson Kanin and Van Johnson. In the first act of the play their characters were just starting out. In the second act they were both rich and famous - she as an actress and he as a photographer. And then Act 3.....

The show opened just as a newspaper strike began and died a quick death.....

I'm watching Elvis in 'Frankie and Johnnie'.

Some fun numbers.....and certainly a more lavish production by Edward Small than probably all of Sam Katzman's Elvis movies - put togither!

Our little family will go to one of the two functioning restaurants in our little hamlet for an early NYE dinner.

Enjoy!  My housemate Shelly and went to Costco and had their $1.50 hot dogs. :)

That is a bigger celebration than we are having here ;D

Costco was crowded, but it didn't bother me.

I have a book I need to finish before midnight.

Good luck, Jane!

Thank you.  I am 80% done and excpect to finish it tonight.  I figure that is good enough to take credit for the book for 2025.

Definitely!

My news: the painters showed up yesterday. Finally. I had a text from him last week, just before Christmas, asking, When do you want us to start? I wanted them to start in November. Now his authorization from the HOA had expired and the offices were closed for
Christmas. More delays. We finally got all the pieces working.

I went over there today. He’d put the paint samples on the wall, as I’d asked for repeatedly, but it was a rainy and dark day, and not a good test. I also spotted some problems that I’ll have to point out to him. Contractors can be such a pain! But two of the four black walls are now white, so we ‘re making progress.

DR Jeanne, maybe they could paint the Writing Room first. That way, you could get started on your book about your life in L.A. real estate.

Wait. Excuse me. Black walls?

Yes. A large wall in the living room, a large wall in the bedroom, a wall in the kitchen, and a small wall under the kitchen counter (could be used for dining). It actually went quite well with the tenants’ sort of Asian decor. But not with my decor.
