Thanks for the Wordle congrats yesterday, DRs Jane and George!
Congratulations on your milestone, DR George!
My Wordle score: 4/6
I took Metro into DC this afternoon and had a nice lunch with former DR Ben and his DH Anthony. They were in town for a wedding. We went to a restaurant near their hotel in Dupont Circle and had a nice time.
Back from rehearsal. We did a run-through for lighting guy - he really liked the show and what we've done with it and he taped it so he's all set to hang lights now. Then I was intending to do more detail work but sound arrived, so instead we got everyone in mics and set levels for dialogue and then levels for singing with the tracks. Tracks sound great on the big sound system. I now have to have Richard create some scene change cues, about five of 'em. Then we have to add either four or eight bars of something for one number, to facilitate a costume change.
So, that ate up the rest of our time. I did set all the bits involving a skeleton that's on during the first scene in the doctor's office. From the very first staged reading I directed I knew what I wanted to do with the skeleton. It's now rigged to turn its head in either direction and front, and it also laughs - mouth part opens and closes, clacking while it does. We time and operate that from off-stage at specific moments and it's hilarious. Just imagine the skeleton as Jack Benny.
Congratulations, DR John G., on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!!
