TOD - for carry out fried chicken we’re partial to Lee’s Famous Recipe, a chain that was founded in Lima, OH.  They have locations in 13 states (and British Columbia) and they’re mostly in Ohio and Kentucky.  I prefer their boneless strips with potato salad and green beans for sides.

In British Columbia? Well that was exciting till I found they’re all out on Vancouver Island.

I can't ever remember buying fried chicken to take out.  I've never really cared for any fried chicken that wasn't home made.

Skip has always made a pretty amazing fried chicken - though these days I've been more partial to breaded chicken breast or breaded chicken tenders, which (to me) tastes just about the same as fried chicken.

My thoughts on Skip’s fried chicken are well known across the land.

While I haven't tried Skip's fried chicken I am sure it is excellent, and it is homemade :)

Tell them that the adult lifespan is 6, 7 weeks. See what happens.

TOD: We had KFC once when I was a kid, then never again. It was soggy then, and every other time I've had it since, it's still soggy. As a kid, we got our fried chicken (rarely) from a local place whose name I can't recall.

Back when I was eating fast food fried chicken as college student or an adult, it was usually Popeye's or Church's. I can't do that any more. I go to Starbird these days but always substitute the grilled chicken for the fried in their sandwiches.

Had another Islands burger - it was good. Had a 40% off thing. Also ordered a small Caesar and asked for one extra dressing in addition to the one that came with it on the side. As per usual, there was NO dressing anywhere.

I'm back from a five-minute visit to the dentist.

Five minutes, people.

At my last cleaning they noticed a tiny li'l pinprick size hole in my gum, just below the lower front teeth. Apparently "these things happen", and they wanted to check it after a few weeks to make sure it was closing up on its own which they tend to do. It did, and I was in the chair for only three minutes and outta there at NO CHARGE. (Worst case, if the hole was still there she might have suggested putting a suture in to close it up. So how nice that that wasn't required.)

Now, what's not to love about a trip to the dentist like that one? Eh? I ask you.

That's great, ChasSmith!

We have been to Vancouver Island.  The first time we flew there when we lived in Ashland.  The second time was off of a cruise ship.

I would like to return.  From here we could drive to the ferry.  It is ferry rides I don't like as I often get seasick.

An aide politely told one student that 6, 7 was so last year. It shut the kid up for 3 or 4 minutes.
