Not to mention read the review I knew would be bad, although its nastiness is not going to do this cheerleader reviewer any good. He thrives on being known as a cheerleader - takes his photos with cast members - he's only done this a handful of times that I've seen - he just did NOT like the play itself, thought the use of public domain tunes didn't work for today's audiences (I love when people say what works and doesn't work with today's audiences), singled out three performers in a negative way, which he rarely does and which really bothered me, did not even say a single word about the four leads' performances. I think people will understand exactly the issues when they read it and while the theater community in LA loves him for his 99% raves, no reviewers in LA really get people in seats. I get mentioned once - a he did his best kind of thing. On the other hand - we got an advance quote from a review that's hitting Wednesday - that's a rave - and it, too, will not get people in seats.
It was the Muse - I knew she was having a long day and I told her tomorrow would be fine, but she started anyway and read the first six pages - then her eyes were just too tired so tomorrow it is. She did say she loved the first six so that's a good sign because they're very much what the book is - and she loves the title.
