Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the filet of notes, and now it is time for you to post until the filet of cows come home.

I knew I wouldn't repeat a 2-fer Wordle anytime soon...if ever.

So, the concert last night was fairly full, but not completely sold out. Leif Ove Andsnes is an incredible pianist. Here is the cover of the program:

They have a digital copy of the program (without the articles or the cover, just the artists' sections) here:
https://issuu.com/meanycenterfortheperformingarts/docs/meany-center-encore-january-2026
Leif's section is on pages 9-12. I'm not specifically a classical pianist fan but we did enjoy ourselves...and David got the tickets for free, so that helped.

Before the concert, he also bought us dinner at
Jollibee
, which neither Shelly nor I had heard of. It's a fried chicken place comparable to KFC or Popeye's. I had the
Aloha Chicken Sandwich
and mashed potatoes and a diet Pepsi. We all enjoyed what we got.

After the concert, David drove us around Seattle and gave us a bit of a tour. We couldn't see much but all the lights were really nice.

We did drive through and see Pike Place Market (it was, of course, closed):

I would like one day -just one! - in which Donald Trump is neither mentioned nor responsible for something his shitty administration is pulling. I read something recently where a doctor made a comment thast he suspected Trump has maybe six monthsd left to live. nWell, I hope it's true; I'd rather see him dead than wait for hios crimes to send him to prison.
And I hate the fact that he is responsible for maybe 99% of the panic attacks I have these days are his responsibility. I don't think I've been this frightened since the nuclear threats sixty years ago when I was in college.
And I apologize to you DRs that my hatred for him manˆfests itself too often on this site.

My ballet colleague Doug is coming to visit this morning, so I must get busy tidying up. Keeping up with the mayhem of three cats is a losing proposition.

Pulled a late one last night and am plenty groggy this morning. Got back to
Empire of the Sun
, watched it all the way through from the beginning, and for my taste it’s one of Spielberg’s great ones.

I don’t know how I’ve lived all of these years in such total ignorance of this, but I was floored to learn that the choral piece “Exsultate Justi” was composed by John Williams for this movie. Shame the living HELL on me and my sorry ASS. And maybe even the horse I rode in on.

Today I have to fill a couple of gas cans, and we need to make sure the snow blower and the supplies of sand and salt are accessible. Tomorrow’s the storm. All day. Monday’s the cleanup. All day. We’re looking at 10 to 16 inches or something like that. And single digit temps. Not looking forward to it at all.

Great photos from DR GEORGE last night - and it was nice hearing about the piano concert!
But as one of the characters in my play My Hand Is Not My Heart says: "Playing piano can't be that hard. I seen Bugs Bunny do it once with his feet!"
