NBC taped AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' and aired it during the 1981-1982 TV season. I'll bet someone around here has a copy of that show.

As I mentioned last night, my work project today will be rewatching the X-MEN movies so I can get a jump start on that massive Blu-ray set that's heading my way.

I should also be getting the Blu-ray of DEXTER - Season 2 in the mail, but it's not due for release for a couple of weeks so there's time to get to it (and I've already reviewed the DVD set anyway, so the major work with that is already done.)

I'd loved to have seen TWO'S COMPANY with Bette Davis. And, of course, the other NEW FACES revues would have been fun. Lots of revues from the 1930s like AS THOUSANDS CHEER and THE BAND WAGON have gone down in history.

Oh, I forgot to mention CLOSER THAN EVER. It's a marvelous revue with every single song a winner.

I'm up (barely) and awake (uh-huh) and I (desperately) need coffee (right now)!

Am going to Trader Joe's this morning for a bit of shopping (I need COMFORT foods).  I also need to get gas.

Oh, the travails of having to maintain one's existence!

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I didn't finish taping up my boxes until sometime around 3:45am last night/earlier this morning.

*Of course, if I had not been watching (bad) TV last night and surfing the interwebs, I probably would have gotten done sooner. Prolly.

But, again, I'm already up, and I've already been to the post office.

*And I have to say that the Mount Pleasant, SC, post office is truly one of the most, if not the most pleasant post office I've ever been in. -When the line got two(!!) deep, the main clerk called for more clerks to come out front!

DR JRand - We have a closing matinée tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 which will be followed by strike. No real closing night party, but there will be a late, post-strike party Sunday night.

I have had to turn the fan on in my office for the first time in 2009. It's 11:30, and it's already warm upstairs. Downstairs will be cooler, of course, but I'm also wearing shorts instead of sweat pants this morning for the first time in 2009.

And now I'm going to head downstairs to check the mail and then get started on preparing some luncheon.

I'm currently back at Baked for some coffee and a "Jammer". (Pic to follow, of course.)

I'm also trying to figure out how to spend the next couple of hours in the very summer-like weather that we're having today in Charleston. Decisions, decisions.

Work should always be so enjoyable.  I hope an equally wonderful opportunity with this group is in your future.

Back from my haircut and errands.  When Richard gets back from his honor guard duties (military funeral), we'll go to Bath & Body Works and Barnes & Noble for some more items for the Japanese Cherry Blossom gift basket I'm creating for a silent auction.

I had to take a break from reading THE HEARTS OF HORSES to do a little geography research.  Several times Pilot Rock is mentioned which totally confused me.  I see Pilot Rock in the distance almost every day (http://www.oregontrails.com/Page.aspx?ID=15 ).   The descriptions of the surrounding areas in the novel don’t match my Pilot Rock.  I’ve now learned there is another Pilot Rock in Oregon (http://www.cityofpilotrock.org) and the county the book takes place in is a made up county based on Wallowa County near Pendleton, Oregon.  I feel much better having sorted this out.

I have read a number of books that mention Pilot Rock & they all referred to the “pilot” they followed on the Oregon Trail from California to Oregon.  One book even mentions the first coach stop in Oregon which just happens to be located at the bottom of our road. 8)  Recently it was turned into a lovely B & B.

DR Jane - I looked and looked on the Oregon map for the county where The Hearts of Horses takes place.  I was so relieved when I confirmed that she'd made it up!
