All right, I'll give:  What was the "dirty word"?
Buggered if I know Ron.

Buggery is still a crime.
A bugger, in our legal statute jargon, takes to "pig sticking" in quite the wrong way.

I don't know if other CHUCK viewers saw promos during the week. I just know that i didn't.  Personally the only time i think a show should switch days is if it announces the change during the previous episode.

Kind of hard to do, DR Jennifer, when the show hasn't been on for more than a month.

He is. On HD-DVD.

I was talking about Heroes Season 1, which we are catching up on via HD-DVD.

I have watched (and never missed) Lost since Day 1, and I did (like MattH) recently review the Season 3 boxed set.  I have to say RLP that I actually loved Season 3 of Lost from the very beginning--I know a lot of people complained about it, but I found it riveting the whole time, as I detail in my review.

My review says the same; I loved almost everything about Season 3. I certainly enjoyed the 6 opening episodes that so many people disliked. I liked them when they first aired, and I LOVED them when I rewatched them realizing just exactly how much information we were getting about the Others in those episodes, very necessary since the Others play such a HUGE role in ALL of Season 3.

It was exceedingly cold when I went out to do my Friday errands. I really hate days when the cold just bites through your clothes no matter how much you have on. Yes, I know some of you live with this kind of cold for months on end. We're not as accustomed to it in the South.

I began my afternoon by watching the last episode of JAG in the season five box set. No cliffhanger! I was very surprised. (Well, a tiny one perhaps; Harm and Mac were going into the banquet with their respective lovers and glanced at one another with "Mona Lisa" smiles on their faces. I'm sure that gave fans on the show hope that they'd eventually get together.

Next, I watched Wednesday night's CSI: NY. A good mystery and continuing melodrama over the death of the child that Danny feels responsible for. That did make for some tense moments, but the contrivances for his neighbor to get his gun were just a little too much to swallow.

Next, I watched Part I and about half of Part II of THE JEWISH AMERICANS. Interesting stories of Jewish immigrant life as they arrive in the country and go about fitting in. Lots of famous Jewish people I was totally unaware of, so it's an excellent introduction to the subject.

I began my afternoon by hand-carrying a birthday card up 14th Street to Lynn, the cashier/manager of a popular coffee/snack shop.

I then returned to find an invoice in my inbox which I now must process for payment.

First, though, I think I'll have a hot cup of spiced apple spiderCIDER and a chocolatine (I stopped at La Farine this morning en route to work.

I don't suppose there will be any near-future good time to ask if any DRs ever played "Cootie" when they were kids.

No, but my younger brother did:

DR Ben - is your employer enlightened enough to allow Ant on your health benefits package?  I thank my lucky stars every day that my employer allows this for my DH.

We've had domestic partner benefits for a couple of years now.  I think our staff association (union-equivalent) had been working on getting these for about 10 years.  Now, I just need a domestic partner. ;)

I hope to listen to some music by "Southside Johnny" today.  Also some music by Mika and Keane. Sometimes there is some interesting music out there.

As in Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes?

Yippee-kay-ay!

For those wondered what else the strike has caused:

'Justice League of America'

It could be a long time before Superman and Batman meet on the big screen. With no shooting script and options having expired on potential cast members (man, we would have liked to see Wonder Woman as played by the buxom Megan Gale, pictured), Warner Bros. has now put its ensemble superhero flick on hold.

'Shantaram'
Warner Bros. called off the February start date on this Mira Nair-directed flick, in which Johnny Depp was set to star as an Australian heroin addict who escapes prison, pretends to be a doctor in India and eventually fights against the Russians in Afghanistan. Busy guy.

'Angels and Demons'
Tom Hanks has plenty of time to grow his hair out to reprise his role as cryptographer Robert Langdon. Due to an unfinished script by Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman, the Ron Howard-directed prequel to 'The Da Vinci Code' has pushed its release date from Dec. 19, 2008, to May 15, 2009.

'Pinkville'
United Artists postponed Oliver Stone's historical drama about an army general (Bruce Willis) investigating the My Lai Massacre, citing Stone's penchant for script-tinkering during shooting. As a result, Willis dropped out, making the film another casualty of the writers' war.

'Nine'
Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem and Sophia Loren will have to wait to flaunt their singing and dancing skills. This Rob Marshall-directed musical, which had planned to start lensing in March, is another victim of an unfinished script.

'Fantastic Voyage'

'Independence Day' director Roland Emmerich's remake of the 1966 sci-fi classic had been planned as a summer 2009 event movie for Fox,but 'National Treasure' screenwriting duo Marianne and Cormac Wibberley were unable to finish the script before the strike.

Hello, all!

I'm several days behind, but the pro bono Safe Kids video is complete and so are the TLC spots which will run in Miss America this weekend.

I was in such a rush to get to my block captain meeting last night that I left my computer at my job. Fortunately, people were there at 8 working so I was able to pick up the computer on our way to the airport.

Pleasant flight, terrible cab driver, and now we're at our hotel.
