Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of funny, and now it is time for you to post until the funny cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: POLYHISTOR!
-
First post after BK!
-
BK, I know it is no longer Wednesday, but what is an optical?
-
First post after TCB!
-
From yesterday:
I actually bought the 3rd season of "High School Reunion (https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B0032UR0YE/ref=dv_web_yvl_list_pr_2) because I found out the new (since last year) business manager at the library was on that season. He's Eric, "The Gay Guy!" ;D
The business manager of your library?
Yup. He's openly gay. He and his husband have a son, and Eric has a YouTube channel for his alter ego, MizzHoneyBucket (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuvJjle8NIk4aFNYP8eDhCw) (pronounced "boo-kay). Warning...her videos are (mostly) NSFW!
:))
-
So is HIGH SCHOOL REUNION a reality show?
-
Good night, George.
-
So is HIGH SCHOOL REUNION a reality show?
Yes. People in their class suggested that they apply to be on the show and they got chosen. He said that the show was VERY edited to tell stories that the producers wanted to tell.
-
Good night, George.
Good night, Tom.
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I am seeing my barber this morning. It's overdue.
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to our DR Laura !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
That boob Mike Pence is on CBS This Morning. Bless his tiny little "christian" heart.
What a disgusting creep.
-
My birthday celebration was much fun. I got home around 10:30 and feeling no pain after two frozen margaritas. I was ready for bed.
The Cafe Frida dinner was wonderful and the company was cherce.
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to our DR Laura !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy birthday, Laura!
-
Particularly excellent and informative ANGIE story in the notes!
-
I just heard the sad news that Rick Centalonza, the good reed player - the other reed player caused problems and played poorly - on many of my recordings with BK, has passed away. He was a good man.
-
Happy Birthday to our own nature girl DR LAURA!
-
Sad news DR ELMORE.
-
Good morning to all
-
I loved the notes today.....very informative and interesting.
TOD:
Steve McQueen
The Blob
The Great St. Louis Bank Robbery
Bullitt
Natalie Wood:
Just For You
Rebel Without A Cause
Marjorie Morningstar
West Side Story
Gypsy
Inside Daisy Clover
The Affair
-
Happy birthday to DR Laura
-
TOD
Steve McQueen
The Thomas Crown Affair. (I can't figure out why it is R rated. No real violence. One person shot in the leg. No blood. No one dies. No nudity. No f words) I can watch it over and over again.
-
DR TCB you must have left the fair just as Keith and I were returning from our unexpected walk in the storm. Yes, it also cleared up just minutes before we reached home.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I never saw ANGIE, something that will have to be rectified as far as that episode is concerned.
-
Great company indeed, DR Elmore, for what must have been a superb birthday dinner.
-
Happy Birthday, Laura!
-
It's almost hard to believe, but tonight we do! we do! in front of our preview audience.
-
T.O.D.
Natalie Wood's SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS always gets to me.
I was never a big Steve McQueen fan, so I'll say BULLIT. Not because of McQueen, but because the producer, Philip D'Antoni, was my publicity client at the time of its release.
-
HAVE A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR LAURA!
-
I'm working with this actor in the UK on an audio version of my Errol Flynn one-person play, and this guy is terrific.
We e-mail and Skype.
Usually, when doing these plays on audio, it takes 2-3 passes before the actor "gets it" (i.e. has the persona of the character right). This guy had Flynn on the first reading.
I love working with talented, cooperative people, and right now I'm working with five of them.
The others are doing Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Spencer Tracy and Basil Rathbone.
-
It's almost hard to believe, but tonight we do! we do! in front of our preview audience.
Have a good preview.
-
DR Druby, congrats on finding your perfect Flynn.
-
Break a leg, Chas!
-
I should be sitting in a barber's chair at the moment but thanks to the Orange Baboon sitting in his nouveau riche gilt Trump Tower, Fifth Avenue has been closed all week and there is no easy access to my barber by bus. After waiting forever for the Fifth Avenue bus, it stopped at Columbus Circle, leaving me no option but to cancel my appointment and take a bus back uptown. It's so good of the NYC media to let us know that, thanks to the Orange fool making an ass of himself at the UN, the NYC populace is screwed this week.
Color me really pissed.
-
I am going to bury my anger in doing the laundry. I had planned to do it this afternoon, but the moment has arrived.
-
Sean's post of his babies today.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy birthday, DR Laura. I hope you don't have to make your own pate a choux to celebrate.
-
I wanna play with the kitties.
-

Thursday morning greetings! Richard and I got a lot out of the elder law seminar last night and we're looking forward to the sessions in October and November.
-
Good morning from Johnston, South Carolina, where the humidity is currently 93 percent.
Welcome to the Eastern Time Zone, DR Ron - nice to have you here!
-
DR John G, I had to laugh at your comment last night about Virginia Woolf. Tonight my book group is discussing To the Lighthouse, which I found to be a real slog, but finished yesterday. Wasn't sure I'd get through it until I went online and found a character list.
-
Good news DR GINNY - it's always great to learn!
-
Ah! Other DEAR READERS are adding to my list for the TOD:
SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS
THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR
NEVADA SMITH
-
Preview vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
-
I am watching my cocoons carefully....but no new Monarchs yet....one looks very C L O S E to opening.
We expect temperatures in the low 90's today.....in September!
I got my pump off, but I can certainly tell the difference in waiting just one full week between treatments instead of two full weeks. Just very tired and moving S L O W L Y.
-
Good morning from Johnston, South Carolina, where the humidity is currently 93 percent.
Welcome to the Eastern Time Zone, DR Ron - nice to have you here!
Thank you!

My mom is off to her volunteer work with the genealogical society of Edgefield County.

I am sitting on my duff cruising the internet.

I'm up, I'm up - maybe five hours of sleep. Looks like it drizzled this morning.

COPING VIBES FOR DR JRAND!

Hoping traffic isn't horrible.

Have to leave in about twenty minutes, which gives me an hour and fifteen to do a twenty-minute drive.

Nice!

The best birthday present I ever got was the year I officially adopted Joshie. He had been with us as a foster since January, but when he went to adoptions in the summer, he growled at everyone. They had me take him back home. I talked the shelter into discounting him because it would cost them more to euthanize him than to just let me keep him. They let me have him for the cost of the rabies shot. Best $11 I ever spent.
It was still a long while before he got over his feral-ness and decided he loved me. But when he did, my goodness, did I have a dedicated buddy.
-
And a Very Happy Birthday to DR Laura!! :D

Thank you, John. Actually, that is exactly what I was thinking of doing today!
Enjoy. I know I would.
-
Overheard this at work today. It made me think of BK.
"I have chile flakes on my kale!"
-
The day here is beautiful and all is lush and green. And hot and humid. Did I mention hot and humid?
It's interesting, especially from inside an A/C home.
-
I've gotten all my boxes out of the garage and into my bedroom. Opening them is the next "challenge/chore". The recyclable bin is full already and won't be emptied until a week from today, so I may just defer opening anything else. I mailed a lot to myself. I also UPS'd a lot to myself. Didn't want some things in the household goods.

Wonderful story DR Laura. He knew he wanted you to keep him.

You are going to have to get used to hot and humid again.

Opening boxes and figuring out where to put the contents is always a chore.

Richard and I just did some grocery shopping and agreed it's much too hot and humid for September 21. We are very glad to be back in our interesting air conditioned home.
-
Back from a fun visit with Nick and am about to eat Freshly meal one.
-
I just finished packing and labeling four cartons to ship via Fed Ex to Miami University Library tomorrow. I had to run to Staples to for more packing chips, and on the way there my left leg gave out and I could no longer walk on it. I had to take a taxi for the block and a half ride home.

:o Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
That's very scary, DR Elmore! How are you now?
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
I loved the Joshie story from DR LAURA. I am still watching my cocoons, but nothing more yet today....but I said that already didn't I?
Today, after I had my pump taken off, I had some nausea for the first time since I started my treatment.....I took my pill, and it seems to have passed.
Unpacking vibes for DR RLP.
-
Cocoon should read chrysalis!
-
I'm sorry to hear about your friend, Elmore.
-
That's very scary, DR Elmore! How are you now?
I'm moving very cautiously. I'm going nowhere tonight, so I'll give it a rest and see how I feel in the morning.
-
Hugs, JRand. I hope that's as bad as the side effects get.
-
The pate a choux is in the oven.
-
Did you fall, Elmore? That's a very scary story. Is the elevator fixed now?
-
Vibes for Elmore. That doesn't sound like fun.
-
The pate a choux is in the oven.
In my mind's nose, I can almost smell it.
-
Thanks DR LAURA....me, too!

The elevator runs but the management has yet to begin the installation of a new one.

I spoke to Randy. Jo got the job she wanted!

Congrats to Jo!

Everything is ready to announce at midnight.
-
I've been checking out lots of the new Blu-ray transfers. But at Nick's, he showed me the new Doctor Dolittle transfer from the 65mm negative and it is spectacular-looking - crystal clear, bursting with great color and sound - nothing will really make the movie any good, but seeing it like this goes a long way to helping.
-
I look forward to "Doctor Dolittle" on blu ray. I have enjoyed the movie for its music.
-
~~~~~~~~~~Recovery VIBES for DR Elmo's leg~~~~~~~~~
-
Congratulations to Jo!
Good news from Jo!
-
We are having lovely weather today. I should have taken a photo of the clouds this evening.
-
Happy Birthday DR Laura!
Happy Birthday, DR Laura!
Thank you, Kevin.
-
Happy Birthday DR Laura!
Thank you, Jennifer.
-
I am sending the pastries with Sandra to work tomorrow. They are SOOOO good.
-
Laura, have you figured out what you did wrong the first time?
-
There's a scene in Paris Blues where Satchmo lets loose with Paul Newman's band. Insanely wonderful music. And Martin Ritt is wise enough to let the music just go on.
-
The very first time, when I made them with a friend, we did the technique all wrong. It's more technique than ingredients, I think.
When I made them myself the first time, I think I used too much egg. We only had medium eggs, not large. So I guess I compensated by adding too much extra. Also, they spread instead of puffed.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Happiest of Birthdays to DR Laura!
I hope you're had a wonderful day!
-
Larry, mega vibes for better walking and physical comfort!
-
And condolences on the loss of your friend.
-
Healthy vibes to all DRs.
-
It's good to see DR Ron back.
Will you be posting some photos of your new/old 'hood?
-
Glad to hear Jo's news. Did she try for any other jobs or just this one?
-
Finished with my viewing - a documentary about Bitcoin. I didn't know anything about Bitcoin going in and I certainly know nothing about it having watched the documentary.
-
Had my second Freshly meal.
-
Jack, I'm surprised and pleased that you haven't had any nausea until now.
Vibes this is also the last of it.
-
DR Laura,
Really cute card. And a purrrfect card for DR Laura.
-
Overheard this at work today. It made me think of BK.
"I have chile flakes on my kale!"
I don't think you'd ever hear the words "my kale" from BK.
😀
Six!
Good night, all.
-
John G, how's the back and the knee?
-
Happiest of Birthdays to DR Laura!
I hope you're had a wonderful day!
Thank you, Jeanne.
BTW, the earthquake we had a couple nights ago wasn't teeny tiny here at all. First, I heard the windows rattling. Then EVERYTHING started shaking. One report from a meteorologist said a 3.6 quake would produce the sort of rattling of a truck passing by. Nope. Not this one. This one got your attention. I didn't take cover, but I was thinking I'd have to when it suddenly quit.
-
I watched the new DOC MARTIN tonight. Jane, did you see the email? A new episode every Thursday on Acorn TV.
-
This kid's worn out.
Good night.
-
Had two little cupcakes as a treat. The cheesecake place near the mail place (mini cheesecake things) literally closed up shop without any prior warning. It sat empty for three weeks and has just reopened as a mini cupcake place - the irony being that it was originally a cupcake place but when cupcakes gave way to whatever else came in they went out of business. So full circle. I had a little red velvet cupcake thing and a carrot cake cupcake thing, both very tasty and pretty small.
-
Nice write-ups (on HTF) on the Twilight Time releases, BK.
-
Back from our one and only preview. It's always kind of interesting around here, where seniors are the freely admitted preview audiences, to observe how various things play. I Do! I Do!, as I expected, was a clear winner. One can only hope tomorrow night's official opening is as well received.
-
I am sending the pastries with Sandra to work tomorrow. They are SOOOO good.
I am sure they will be appreciated.
-
It sure would be fun if Sandra stopped in tomorrow to tell us about it.
-
Thank you DR Jeanne.
I was just catching up before mentioning it. We laughed our way through it. It is still one of the best shows ever, IMHO. 😊💟😊
Good evening!
I'm watching "The Orville" and am enjoying it. I think it's improving. :)
-
Happy Birthday to DR Laura!
-
Leg vibes to DR Elmore.
-
Break a leg to DR Chas and company!
-
I always have to laugh when someone says in response to me being the tiniest bit critical of a transfer, "It looked fine on my (insert brand name here)" - you know what, fine doesn't quite do it and the film being discussed should and could look so much better. It looks "fine" on my TV, too - not great, not as it should, but it suffices.
-
Have everything ready for the announcement. I loved Doug's cover for the Rachmaninov (instantly one of my favorite Kritzerland covers) but his cover for the new release is stunning. He gave me six choices and there was no question which the winner was and he agreed. We put my second choice on the back of the booklet so it can be flipped.
