I've been checking out lots of the new Blu-ray transfers.  But at Nick's, he showed me the new Doctor Dolittle transfer from the 65mm negative and it is spectacular-looking - crystal clear, bursting with great color and sound - nothing will really make the movie any good, but seeing it like this goes a long way to helping.

There's a scene in Paris Blues where Satchmo lets loose with Paul Newman's band. Insanely wonderful music. And Martin Ritt is wise enough to let the music just go on.

The very first time, when I made them with a friend, we did the technique all wrong. It's more technique than ingredients, I think.

When I made them myself the first time, I think I used too much egg. We only had medium eggs, not large. So I guess I compensated by adding too much extra. Also, they spread instead of puffed.

Finished with my viewing - a documentary about Bitcoin.  I didn't know anything about Bitcoin going in and I certainly know nothing about it having watched the documentary.
