Last night I watched again a DVD that DR MBARNUM sent me a few years (!) ago.  A Japanese film that I recommend to everyone.....I think MR BK himself would find it amusing and entertaining.

It is called Welcome Back, Mr McDonald......about a young woman who writes a script for a radio drama and the happenings on the day it is to be produced.  Very very funny.....

We are having an absolutely perfect day.  We took Sherlock for a short hike & then walked in town with him.  A recently opened Japanese restaurant on the Plaza just opened their outdoor seating.  They kindly permit dogs.  The food was pleasant & the service excellent.  We will definitely be returning.

We were surprised on such a beautiful day the town wasn't packed with people & parking was easy.

Our stuff was delivered today.

A lamp, which my wife hates, got broken by the mover.

Also, my revolver is missing.  We spent a couple of hours opening boxes and looking for it.

According to the driver, if it doesn't show up, it will become a "police matter".

We've decided to stay in the hotel an extra day, because there is no room for people yet in our house...just boxes.

Doesn't that sound like things were just before we moved?

This is most distressing on several levels, DR DRUXY.  Maybe Robert Goulet was on television, and your friend Elvis borrowed your revolver.

TOO HOT OUTSIDE.

There are more humans at the pool today than all the other days combined.

Dear Jane, I've noticed a lot of the restaurants here are moving to outdoor seating which allows pets.

That's good for both the partrons and the restaurant's business.

And most dogs are really well behaved.

Dear Druxy, if you don't find it, livid is a good word.

Every time I move they go in the car with me.  It's not safe but I feel better.  We never went camping without one.

Good evening!  I woke up this morning and the rain was gone, so...today was window well day.  there is a window well on the west side of my house that's over 8 feet long. The previous owners had two boards over it and the windows in the basement were blocked off with foam and curtains.  I decided it was time to fix that.  I have two other window wells on the east side of the house that needed some work too, so...

I took the wood off the window well on the west side of the house, got out the shovel and dug down a few inches below the window and then put rock  in the wells to just below the windows for drainage - I did the same thing to the other wells. (10 bags of rock - this was an upper body work out day)

Then I decided i wanted window well covers, but they don't make them in the sizes I need and the last time I special ordered smaller ones, it was well over $100 each. So, I bought a few sheets of plexiglass and cut it to fit.  I was able to fit it in the gap between the bricks over the window well so there is enough slope for the rain to run off and then I held them in place with metal stakes.  It worked and the total cost for all three window wells was less than $100.    I was also able to dump the dirt I dug out of the wells in two holes where trees were take out last year.

The big basement room now has natural light. What a treat!  The view is the inside of the window well, so I bought some rice paper window film and will put that on the window so that light can come in but the view isn't so ugly.  The cats won't be pleased, but they'll get over it.

The bad news is, I now want to prime and paint the paneling in that room - then I'll need to carpet or tile that room....

DR DRUXY, if your revolver doesn't show up, be sure to file a police report that it's stolen or missing.  Who knows what it could be used for and if it's something bad and they run a trace, it will come up with your name.

LOL.  We'll see what really happens.  I know he wants to come visit.  If he wants to help me paint a room or two that would be wonderful.  If he doesn't, I don't care, it would just be fun to spend time with him

His brother Andy is going to a concert in Omaha and then will drive up and stay.  Now if I could get both of them painting with me, we could cruise through the diningroom and living room in no time at all.

Large dogs?  We always have major problems eating with Sherlock when we are in L.A.  Santa Monica has difficult too.  I will never understand why the health department is against it.  Food is cooked outside & their are birds and what not all around.  I think it should be up to the individual restaurants to decide.

Congratulations, DR George!

Thanks Ginny and Sam, DAW, Jennifer, Jane and Cillaliz!!  I'm not exactly sure when we start rehearsals, but I think it's sometime next week.

Did you have it locked?  Would the movers know what it was?  Many items simply disappeared during moves.  It is very distressing & difficult to prove.  I hope you find it.  If not, The fact the police will be involved should make a difference.
