MBARNUM! Hello!!! I'm sorry, I was asleep when you greeted me last night!

DR singdaw- Nice to meet (?) you! Nice also that you appreciate my music rambling. I actually thought about going to the ACDA Nat. Convention in Miami, but I'm going to Europe in the middle of May, and all funding is going to that. However, the director of Choral Activities at JMU attended, and came back with all sorts of goodies and philsophies for the members of our ACDA chapter. I love ACDA :D

The weather in Harrisonburg has been phenomenal...it's strange to think that two weeks ago, we had a snowstorm, and it was 85 degrees and HUMID today! I'm afraid I may have spent a bit too much time laying on the quad, as a glance in the mirror shows VERY rosy cheeks.

And the word of the day is: HETEROCLITE!

That would be a female body part that half the men at this site have never seen.

I just started reading the autobiography of Corinne Calvet. I am not a big fan of hers, particularly, but I am interested in what she has two say about her two husbands, John Bromfield and John Fontaine (aka Jeffrey Stone), both of which I have interviewed (and still keep in touch often with John Fontaine).

What a spicey read this book is! All those innocent and virginal looking performers you saw on the screen in the 1950s were anything but! LOL!

Did Miss Calvet mention me?  I certainly mentioned her in Kritzerland.

I shall now be on my way to the Monica of Santa.  I'll be back much later this evening.  I did manage to write a page and a half, and am just a few lines away from the end of the chapter.

There were actual "life rafts", as opposed to inflatable "life boats" - but not on the Titanic. They were large rectangles of kapok with canvas mesh bottoms. (The kapok kept the raft afloat so you needn't worry about water getting inside.) People could get in side, and also cling to straps mounted to the kapok perimeter. The rafts had oars strapped to the side and an emergency pack of water, some food, and flares.

I'd be inclined to believe his favorite Muppet is "Animal."

I guess that's where der Brucer remembers seeing those rafts -- I bet he sailed on the Pinta!

ALL THE KING'S HORSES, AND ALL THE KING'S MEN -

ASSOCIATED PRESS
Quote
BAGHDAD —

Off-duty Shiite policemen enraged by massive bombings in the northern town of Tal Afar went on a revenge spree against Sunni residents there on Wednesday, killing at least 45 men, police and hospital officials said.

The policemen began roaming the town's Sunni neighborhoods on foot early in the morning, shooting at Sunni residents and homes.

Two truck bombs hit markets in Tal Afar Tuesday, killing at least 63 and wounding 150.

Any volunteers for the Reconciliation Committee?

I will be the director, too -- hmmmm, Popeye might work -- it does have O'Neill's triangular relationship thing -- so Popeye, Olive Oil and Brutus (...or Wimpy would give it an interesting twist -- ironic fate indeed) adrift on a raft at the mercy of the sea...

We were discussing POPEYE at work today (your government taxes at work).  When I was a lad watching POPEYE cartoons, sometimes they called him Brutus and sometimes they called him Bluto.  I wondered if somewhere down the line, they changed his name from one to the other (a la Steamboat Willie), or did everyone just keep changing is name back and forth whenever they felt like it?
